Best Seafood Options at Fast Food Chains
While it might seem old hat to head out to a fast food chain and grab a burger and fries, that is changing these days. There are plenty of other menu options going and some of your favorite places are even putting seafood up as a choice.
Let’s take a look at the best fast food seafood options going right now with a couple of these standing as tried and true menu items.
Popeyes Popcorn Shrimp
Popeyes mostly does chicken, but they do have the popcorn shrimp meal on the menu as well, this one in combo style with a biscuit and a side of mashed potatoes. It also comes with dipping sauces to add a little flavor to the mix. The breaded shrimp is satisfying and crunchy, lining up with the rest of their menu for sure.
Culver's Cod Filet Sandwich
Culver’s does some fish on the menu with the North Atlantic Cod Filet Sandwich. This one is cooked to order according to their description and comes with a sweet relish and olive tarter sauce along with lettuce and cheese. The hoagie roll offers a bit of a different style than some other fast food chains.
Burger King's Fish'N Crisp
Burger King keeps things pretty simple with the Fish’N Crisp sandwich which they promote as their catch of the day. The sandwich comes on a sesame seed bun with a slice of cheese and tarter sauce as toppers. While many are drawn to the more signature Whopper and other BK offerings, this sandwich does stack up with the rest of the fast food chain’s offerings.
Checker's Crispy Fish Sandwich
When it comes to fast food seafood options, we are mostly looking at breaded fish sandwiches and that’s what Checker’s does as well. Like many others, this is a simple offering with a fillet of fish topped with cheese, lettuce and tartar sauce. This one pairs almost perfectly with a side of fries.
McDonald's Filet-O-Fish
Probably the most iconic of all the fast food seafood options, the McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish has been on the Golden Arches’ menu since 1965. A bun, a fish fillet, slice of cheese and special tartar sauce tells the whole story here. It’s typically made from wild-caught Alaskan Pollock and the Filet-O-Fish has been one of the chain’s most popular menu items for decades now. That isn’t likely to change anytime soon
