Pete Davidson Faces Serious Legal Problem From Car Accident
Pete Davidson has been charged with reckless driving, a misdemeanor, following his March car accident.
Pete Davidson is making headlines today, and it’s not for his upcoming dramedy, Dumb Money, set to release later this fall, or for an upcoming Saturday Night Live appearance. According to Deadline, Pete Davidson is facing charges for an act of reckless driving the actor committed last March.
In a statement released today, Greg Risling, assistant chief of media relations at the LA County District Attorney’s office, confirmed that comedian Pete Davidson has been charged with reckless driving following a serious collision in Beverly Hills. The incident occurred on March 4 near Rodeo Drive and Elevado Avenue, where Davidson reportedly lost control of his vehicle, struck a fire hydrant, and crashed into a residential property.
Luckily, nobody was seriously injured during the incident. However, Risling emphasized the gravity of reckless driving, reminding the public that while Pete Davidson got lucky and no one got hurt, that reckless driving can lead to some devastating and irreversible consequences.
Actress Sui Wonders, Pete Davidson’s girlfriend, was in the car with the SNL alumn at the time of the incident. Wonders is most known for her role in the Max series Generation, where she plays Riley, and her recent appearance as Emma in the comedy-horror feature Bodies Bodies Bodies, where she co-starred with Davidson. Fortunately, both Davidson and Wonders made it through the accident without serious injury.
The specific details surrounding the collision remain undisclosed at this time, and it is unclear whether alcohol or any other substances were factors in the incident. Pete Davidson has been charged with a misdemeanor for his involvement in the crash. The District Attorney’s office will continue to investigate the incident further, and additional details regarding the case may emerge as the legal proceedings unfold.
Until more evidence is released, it’s difficult to guess what might have happened to cause such a severe accident as to crash into a residential home. Just hours earlier, Pete Davidson and Wonders had been photographed on a beach in Hawaii, and Davidson also appeared at the Kids Choice Awards in Los Angeles that same day, where he announced he would be appearing in the next Transformers movie. All in all, it seems that March 4 was a pretty eventful day for the two actors.
Peter Davidson is a well-known American comedian, actor, and writer who began to make a mark in the comedy scene when he began stand-up in 2013. His sharp wit and fearlessness on stage caught the attention of many, leading to his eight-season stint as a cast member on Saturday Night Live, from 2014 to 2022.
Pete Davidson has starred in comedy films like Big Time Adolescence (2019) and co-wrote and starred in the comedy-drama The King of Staten Island (2020), which is loosely based on his own life.
Pete Davidson currently has three projects in the works, not counting his role in the recently released Transformers film. Dumb Money is set to be his next released feature, coming out in October this year, and is a biopic dramedy that follows the chaos that ensued on Wall Street after GameStop’s stock skyrocketed thanks to Reddit users. Davidson will also appear in the horror-thriller feature, The Home, and a comedy called Wizards!, which will also star Orlando Bloom.
