Best Stranger Things Memes
When the science fiction horror drama Stranger Things first premiered in 2016 on Netflix, it was an instant hit. The show, set in the 1980s, followed a group of outcast kids in small-town Indiana who end up fighting monsters and evil Russians with a girl who has mysterious powers.
Although the premise sounds a little far-fetched, it turned out to be much better than expected and brought that cool vibe back to the ‘80s.
But with great fanfare comes great responsibility. In this case, the responsibility falls into the hands of those hilarious meme makers. They just can’t let a good (stranger) thing get past them. So, here are 10 of the best Stranger Things memes. No doubt, even for all of you serious fans, they will put a smile on your face.
10 Best Stranger Things Memes
Next Episode
We feel ya, Winona Ryder. There is nothing worse than binging your favorite show to the point where there is nothing left to binge. We have probably even made that same face Winona is making in this meme. The worst part of watching an entire season of Stranger Things, especially when it’s the most current season, is that you know how long the Duffer Brothers (the show’s creators) take to crank out the next season.
Christmas Lights
We all have that friend, maybe even more than one. You know, the one who won’t text back even though you can see they have read your text. Are they truly your friend? Why aren’t they texting back? You know good and well they have no life, so there is no reason why they can’t be returning your text. Especially when Joyce Byers gets a return message from her son…through Christmas lights.
The 11 Trifecta
This one is brutal, though very true. You have the tough guy, Kylo Ren, who says he killed his father. Then you have the hero (Obi-Wan Kenobi) who claims to have fought monsters. Finally, you have the Maze Runner who says he escaped prison. Leave it up to the meme maker to remind everyone that 11 (Millie Bobby Brown) did all three.
Give ‘Em The Bird
Some people wear it like pride or a badge of honor when they tell you without a shadow of a doubt exactly how they feel about Stranger Things. They say it sucks and they are extremely adamant about their feelings.
The funny thing is, these people may have never even watched one episode, they just “know” it sucks. Well, Stranger Things Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin Henderson on the series, has a perfect answer for all who say it – a one-finger answer.
All Grown Up
Noah Schnapp plays Will on Stranger Things and man, has he been through a lot. He was the focal point in season one when his character was abducted by a creature from the Upside Down. This brought on 11 and the series was off and running.
Another thing, apparently, that has become a focal point in the series is the different hairdos Will has been given. As this meme’er says, “It’s so cool we get to see the Stranger Things kids grow up.” We then get a series of photos of Will and his different hairdos, ending with a classic picture of Jim Carrey’s bowl cut as Lloyd Christmas in Dumb and Dumber.
Will’s Barber
Will’s hairdo takes another salvo in this Stranger Things meme. Again, the ‘80s bowl cut look does not do him any favors and the meme maker loves to point it out. Taking a page from what Stranger Things has to offer – monsters – the meme describes who the “real monster” is on the series. It would be Will’s barber and we are ready to believe him.
Evolution of Mike
As with the above Stranger Things meme showing Will growing up, we get the same treatment here with Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard). This one though is much more in-depth as it shows Mike’s evolution from season 1 up through season 20.
We know, the series has not been around that long, though it doesn’t stop the meme maker from making fun. The first two show pictures of Mike growing, then we jump to season 8 and a picture of a similar-looking Ezra Miller.
Jump to season 12 and it is now Adam Driver looking much like Mike. Season 16 gives us Keanu Reeves, while season 20 is Alan Rickman’s Professor Severus Snape from Harry Potter.
Ryan Reynolds
It’s nice to know that Stranger Things is a worldwide phenomenon. It is even better when A-list actors decide they want to chime in on what’s happening within the series. Take, for instance, Ryan Reynolds, the A-lister behind such movies as Deadpool, Deadpool 2, Free Guy, and Red Notice.
We all know how much he loves to take to Twitter to take (loving) swipes at his wife, Blake Lively (and she more than holds her own in return), well, Reynolds did the same in hilarious form. You’ve got to read the meme to appreciate Reynolds’ humor.
Will is Just as Crazy
Everyone knows that Will is the most level-headed of the group. They have a tendency to listen to him, which is a good thing, for the most part. This meme shows just how fun it can be playing with that notion. The meme states the boys should all listen to him because he is the only sane one in the group. The picture below has Will standing in full Wizard garb. Oops.
How Long Does It Take?
Seriously, just how long? Fans who are religious about Stranger Things know exactly where we are getting at here. The length of time between seasons. By the time we get to the next season, most of the “kids” will be well into their mid-to-late 20s. This is why the Stranger Things meme with a Titanic slant is so true and so funny.
