Jennifer Lopez Thinks She Should Have Been An Action Star
Jennifer Lopez has always wanted to be an action star.
Although Jennifer Lopez has accomplished tremendous success in her career as a singer, dancer, and actress, she apparently experienced some regret while filming her movie The Mother, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In the upcoming action thriller, which lands on Netflix later this month, the gorgeous performer plays an assassin who comes out of hiding to protect her daughter from dangerous assailants. While speaking about her new film on a recent episode of The View, the 53-year-old star said she wished she had gotten more “empowering” action roles when she was younger and more physically capable.
Jennifer Lopez described filming The Mother as both enjoyable and challenging, revealing that it required regular fight training. Although the fights were choreographed, she said the hard work and preparation involved were not to be underestimated. Fortunately, the Shotgun Wedding actress has a background as a talented dancer, which she said helped her during the intense fight scenes.
Later in her appearance on The View, Jennifer Lopez expressed her excitement about being able to do action roles at this point in her career. She said she wishes she was cast in “these types of roles that I’m getting now, funnily enough, when I was a little bit more, you know, spry.” She went on to share that playing characters like the one she portrays in The Mother are “kind of empowering, and it makes me feel strong and good.”
While we can certainly understand why Jennifer Lopez may have regrets about not landing more action roles earlier in her career, she definitely doesn’t need such roles to feel strong and empowered. She has repeatedly proven this on social media by sharing posts related to her intense fitness regimen and showcasing her beautiful physique. Through her dedication and hard work, Lopez continues to inspire her fans and demonstrate that strength comes from within.
Last week, Jennifer Lopez was showing off her stunning body in an all-vintage outfit in an Instagram post. The bundle of photos showcased the multi-talented artist wearing a skin-tight white crop top and a short skirt, accentuating her killer abs and enviable curves. The premise of the future in the film is quite grim, as it features an AI soldier that concludes the only way to stop war is to eliminate humanity altogether. While Jennifer Lopez’s exact role in Atlas has not been revealed, it is anticipated that she will have a significant presence in the movie. Simu Liu, Lana Parilla, Sterling K. Brown, Abraham Popoola, Greg Cohan, Patrick Millin, and Tracy Todd also make up the cast for the film, which is expected to arrive sometime in 2024.
In the meantime, Jennifer Lopez will star as the titular character in The Mother, which hits Netflix on May 12. The film was directed by Niki Caro and written by Andrea Berloff, Peter Craig, and Misha Green. Rounding out the movie’s cast are Paul Raci, Joseph Fiennes, Omari Hardwick, Lucy Paez, and Jesse Garcia.
