Robert Pattinson is starring in an upcoming comedy directed by Adam McKay: Average Height, Average Build.
Robert Pattinson is set to star in the upcoming Netflix comedy film Average Height, Average Build. The project is directed by Adam McKay, who previously helmed Don’t Look Up, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The filmmaker has also penned the script and will serve as producer alongside Kevin Messick under his Hyperobject Industries banner.
According to Deadline, Robert Pattinson is set to portray a chilling serial killer, with Amy Adams taking on the role of a lobbyist whom he enlists to change laws to his benefit. Robert Downey Jr. will play a retired cop who is determined to solve the murders. But the killer will stop at nothing to prevent him from getting too close.
Adam McKay has been searching for a distributor for Average Height, Average Build for a while. He ultimately chose to return to the studio that released Don’t Look Up. Billed as a dark comedy about the apocalypse, the movie premiered on Netflix in December 2021.
Don’t Look Up is still the streamer’s second most-watched feature during its first ten days on the platform.
With Robert Pattinson on board, Average Height, Average Build could be a potential awards contender for Netflix. Despite mixed reviews, Don’t Look Up earned four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay. McKay’s previous two films, Vice and The Big Short, were also strong contenders during awards season.
Although Robert Pattinson’s career has been quiet since The Batman, the actor is set to star in Mickey 17. Written and directed by Bong Joon-ho, the film is based on the 2022 Edward Ashton novel Mickey7. The story follows a human clone that is constantly revived.
Through his experiences, the narrative delves into philosophical questions of identity and the contradictions between social classes.
Robert Pattinson stars as Mickey Barnes alongside Steven Yeun as Berto, Naomi Ackie as Nasha, Toni Collette as Gwen, and Mark Ruffalo as Hieronymous Marshall. Production began in August 2022 and concluded in December that same year. Mickey 17 is scheduled for release by Warner Bros. Pictures on March 29, 2024.
Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson was spotted at the Met Gala alongside his longtime girlfriend, Suki Waterhouse. The Daisy Jones & the Six star wore a transparent floral Fendi gown which matched the brooch on the actor’s Dior Men suit. The actress exuded elegance with perfectly selected eye shadow palettes which complemented the embroidery on the dress.
Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse have been in a relationship since 2018 and reside in London. Despite their busy acting careers, the couple consciously tries to spend as much time together as possible. The actress previously told The Times of London that they rarely spend more than a few days apart.
She also expressed her contentment in the relationship by saying, “I’m shocked that I’m so happy with someone for nearly five years.” When she has a break in her schedule, she chooses to spend it with Robert Pattinson, and he also makes time to visit her. However, the pair won’t be appearing on screen together any time soon.
But the actress told the publication that Robert Pattinson does help her practice for the occasional audition. “I’ll try and get him to help me with an audition before he falls asleep on the sofa,” she explained.
