Jonathan Majors Defended By Alleged Victim, See The Texts
Jonathan Majors' girlfriend, in text messages, claims she didn't want him to be arrested and denies the initial reports.
Jonathan Majors has recently played the villain role in several film appearances, both in Creed III and as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, after a recent arrest following allegations of assaulting his girlfriend caused a stir in the public eye, Majors has seen life imitate art. According to an article from The Direct, text messages from the alleged victim have now surfaced which show her defending Majors and refuting some of the allegations against him.
Jonathan Major’s lawyer had noted early on that their team had text message evidence denying the assault, and the messages do seem to paint a broader picture of the events. Although the text messages give a better understanding of the events of the altercation, they certainly don’t give readers all of the details. It is probably too soon to say that these texts corroborate the narrative that nothing happened between the two.
There seems to have been some altercation that occurred, and the texts don’t necessarily refute this. Rather, the texts refute some of the specifics of the altercation, including that she denies that she was attacked or strangled. Jonathan Majors’ girlfriend specifically references that things escalated after she tried to grab the actor’s phone, although it is unclear what this entails.
Importantly, she stated that she does not support pressing charges against Jonathan Majors and confirmed that before the Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania actor called the police, she had collapsed and passed out at some point before any physical altercation between the two. She also confirmed that he was initially the one to contact the police.
Jonathan Majors was arrested after police responded to a call from the Marvel actor, who initially called the police at around 11 a.m. on March 25, 2023, out of concern for his partner’s mental health. Majors denies all charges against him, and his lawyer asserts that he is innocent.
One of the initial statements from Jonathan Majors’ criminal defense attorney also mentioned that there was both video footage and witness testimony from the driver of the car in which the altercation took place. Depending on what new information about the incident comes out in the upcoming days, fans of the actor will better understand the events.
Jonathan Majors rose to national prominence after starring in The Last Black Man in San Francisco and later in the HBO science fiction series Lovecraft Country. The actor has since gained greater international recognition for his recurring appearance as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with a surprise role in the Disney+ limited series Loki and most recently in Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania. He recently starred alongside Michael B. Jordan as the antagonist of the boxing film Creed III.
His character Kang the Conqueror is positioned as Marel’s next big bad after Thanos. How these latest events will impact his future within the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains to be seen. The alleged victim says that they do not wish for any charges to be placed against Jonathan Majors, and if they refuse to cooperate with the prosecution or more details come out exonerating Majors, then it seems likely that this case may be declined or dismissed.
