See Olivia Wilde Wearing A Topless Dress
Olivia Wilde wore a gorgeous column dress at the Vanity Fair Oscars party.
Olivia Wilde recently attended the Vanity Fair after-party for the 95th Academy Awards, as did other beautiful celebrities like Rita Ora and Kate Hudson. At times, it almost seems like the stars of the hour were trying to outdo each other in terms of who could wear the outfit with the least amount of skin coverage and, at the very least, the director of Booksmart was in contention. The director/actress wore a sheer white gown that left essentially her entire torso topless except for a small leather bra.
As one can see in this Twitter post from @Fashion_Critic_, Olivia Wilde wore a long white column dress (by designer Gabriela Hearst) draped across one shoulder, toga-style. Beneath that (barely), the House MD star wore a shiny leather bra, accessorized with diamond fringe earrings and a diamond choker. Her eye makeup was darkly smoked and her long blonde hair was artfully tousled around her shoulders. All in all, Oliva Wilde had a pretty amazing look going on for the party.
While Olivia Wilde did attend the Academy Awards ceremony, she was not up for any awards; her most recent film, the science fiction thriller Don’t Worry Darling was tepidly received by critics but did do shockingly well on streaming services. The production of the film was plagued by rumors of personal dysfunction between Wilde and star Florence Pugh (who was also present at the Oscars and the after-party), as well as her relationship with co-star Harry Styles. Basically, of everyone in the movie, Chris Pine was the only one to come out unscathed.
Currently, Olivia Wilde is in pre-production on a new film titled Perfect, a biopic of real-life Olympic champion Kerri Strug and her struggles to overcome a debilitating injury. In the film, Strug will be played by Thomasin McKenzie; the actress is best known for starring in M. Night Shyamalan’s Old and the Edgar Wright film Last Night in Soho. In the latter horror film, she portrayed a young fashion student in London who mysteriously finds herself periodically transported back to 1960s London and follows a young ingenue played by Anya Taylor-Joy.
Olivia Wilde first came to fame guest-starring in the early 2000s classic teen drama The O.C., following it up with a more prominent role on the incredibly popular and critically acclaimed medical procedural House MD. She began starring in films like the 2010 Tron reboot (it is currently unknown whether she will appear in the upcoming Jared Leto Tron movie), In Time by Gattaca director Andrew Niccol, and the Clint Eastwood film Richard Jewell.
In recent years, Olivia Wilde has begun almost exclusively focusing on directing films; her last notable film appearance was an uncredited role as Gozer the Gozerian in the reboot film Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which was shared by Emma Portner and Shohreh Aghdashloo. While Don’t Worry Darling was not critically beloved, it does not seem like she is slowing down directing, and is rumored to be directing a Spider-Woman movie for Sony Pictures.
