Gal Gadot Is Back As Wonder Woman, Here’s Where You’re Going To See Her
Gal Gadot will reprise her role as Wonder Woman in Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
A recently released televised promo for the upcoming DC superhero film Shazam! Fury of the Gods revealed a spoiler for what fans can expect from the movie. While much about the installment has remained under wraps, fans knew they could expect a number of surprises. However, it has now been revealed that the amazing Gal Gadot will be reprising her role as Wonder Woman in the film.
Fans were quick to begin circulating the promo on Twitter. In the short clip, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman can be seen telling Shazam (Zachary Levi) to “Stick to saving the world, kid.” The clip quickly began making its rounds across the internet, prompting the movie’s director, David F. Sandberg, to post a warning on Twitter.
In his tweet, he told fans they may want to stay off the internet and avoid TV if they don’t want to see any spoilers for the upcoming Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The advice comes a little too late for many, however for fans of Gal Gadot, knowing they will be able to see her as Wonder Woman in the film only heightened their excitement.
Since James Gunn and Peter Safran took over as CEOs of DC Studios, they have been trying to revamp the franchise. Unfortunately, that has led to many actors being replaced. Fans can already expect to see Henry Cavill replaced as Superman.
Ray Fisher may be out as Cyborg, and the Flash’s Ezra Miller might be recast in response to the actor’s legal troubles. Because of all the uncertainty surrounding the future of the DCU, fans can rejoice over Gal Gadot’s return as Wonder Woman, as fans were certain she was ousted from the role.
She is one of the few Justice League heroes to remain in the new DCU. Gal Gadot is no stranger to playing Wonder Woman. According to IMDb, she first took on the role of the beloved superhero back in 2016 in the film Superman V Batman: Dawn of Justice. From there, fans fell in love with her portrayal of the character.
We have not seen Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman since 2020, when she starred in Wonder Woman 1984. Now anticipation can build for Shazam! and the chance to see Wonder Woman is all her glory once again. The character’s reprisal has left some already looking to her future for any upcoming projects.
Originally fans were looking forward to a third installment in Wonder Woman’s story. However, after reports surfaced that a Wonder Woman 3 was no longer in development many worried they may not see Gal Gadot as the beloved superhero again. Luckily, in addition to Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman is expected to appear in a few upcoming installments.
So far, Wonder Woman has at least one confirmed project. A prequel series to Paradise Lost is set to follow a Game of Thrones-type story on Paradise Island. In the meantime, fans can look forward to seeing Gadot as Diana again in Shazam! Fury of the Gods when the film releases on March 17th.
