See The Mandalorian Season 3 Show Off The Mandalorian Homeworld
The Mandalorian Season 3 has been given the first look at the Mandalorian homeworld, Mandalore.
Many fans have waited to see the Mandalorian homeworld after learning about it and the Mandalorian Annihilation in subsequent seasons of the series The Mandalorian. Luckily for fans of the Disney+ series, they won’t have to wait much longer. A recent article from ComicBook reveals that The Mandalorian Season 3 will feature a return to the homeworld of Mandalore.
Proceed with caution, this article contains spoilers for the most recent seasons of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
Pedro Pascal, the lead actor who plays Din Djarin had this to say about The Mandalorian Season 3: “What I love most about Season 3 is how much the world opens up in terms of Mandalore and Mandalorians.” Actress Katee Sackhoff who plays Bo-Katan Kryze had more to tease about the season and recent text exchange with showrunners Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.
She stated “[I was] texting Jon and Dave, ‘Are you serious?’ This is an epic season – it’s so big and so bold and so different.”
The Mandalorian is a Disney+ series that revolves around the adventures of Din Djarin, also known as The Mandalorian. When Din is entrusted with a young creature named Grogu from the same species as the fan-favorite Jedi Master Yoda, he embarks on a journey to return the creature to the Jedi Order. Throughout his quest, Din gets entangled in a number of encounters with new and familiar faces from the Star Wars galaxy.
Fans of The Mandalorian have waited a while for Season 3, with Season Two airing back in 2020. The season finale ended with Din defeating Moff Gideon in combat and winning possession of the Darksaber after being rescued by none other than a young Luke Skywalker, who has come to take Grogu away to be trained as a Jedi.
The Disney+ series The Book of Boba Fett brought a welcome update about Din Djarin. The series sees him entangled with Boba Fett and learning that a return to Mandalore could lead him to be redeemed for removing his helmet. Fans also see Din reunite with Grogu after the latter chooses to forego his Jedi training to return to his caretaker.
The Book of Boba Fett reveals some of the lore surrounding the Mandalorians. We learn that different groups of Mandalorians abide by different sets of rules, and thus a return journey to Mandalore will mean bringing some of these varying groups and communities back together. It remains to be seen how this will impact Din and his view of The Way.
The Mandalorian Season 3 will pick up where Din’s story left off. With Djarin in possession of the Darksaber, he technically has the key tool to becoming the leader of the Mandalorians. This could lead to him coming into conflict with rival Mandalorian Bo-Katan, who is also seeking the power to become the leader of the Mandalorians. A recent trailer shows the two along with Grogu on Mandalore, along with a number of other Mandalorians engaged in various kinds of combat.
What fans are seeing from The Mandalorian Season 3 is the potential widening of scope, with Din Djarin becoming ever-more entangled in the machinations of the Star Wars galaxy. With a March 1st release date The Mandalorian Season 3 is right around the corner. For now, fans can watch Seasons One and Two as well as Season One of The Book of Boba Fett on Disney+.
