Ashton Kutcher Reveals Drug-Fueled Night He Thought He Lost It All
Ashton Kutcher explains the drug experience that made him decide to go sober.
Despite his party-boy persona, actor Ashton Kutcher made a startling revelation about his relationship with drugs. In a recent Esquire interview, Kutcher revealed many things, including that he has stopped doing drugs altogether. The decision came after a specifically bad night out.
A bad experience with a THC mint caused him to stop drugs altogether. “That sh** did not go well.” Kutcher admits about his experience. Kutcher and wife Mila Kunis were attending a friend’s wedding in Italy.
Once the edible hit, Kutcher began to lose his composure. At one point, Kutcher’s recent vasectomy made him convinced that he’d lost feeling below his waist. Not only that, he was struggling to find his room.
Kutcher enlisted the help of Kunis, who helped show him back to their room. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the end of the experience for Kutcher. The actor then began to convince himself that the couple were in a dire financial situation.
“We can’t even afford to be here right now!” The actor recalls exclaiming in a panic. Luckily for them, Kutcher was able to figure out a counting error he’d committed in his calculations in the previous night. “The next day, I realized I had moved the decimal point,” he says.
For Kutcher, that was the beginning of the end of his relationship with weed. This may come as a shock for fans. Kutcher had a reputation as an easygoing Hollywood partyboy.
Ex-wife Demi Moore’s autobiography documented how Kutcher frequently threw alcohol and marijuana-fueled parties with many notable individuals. Ashton Kutcher is known for encouraging and even sometimes getting involved in wild antics. As the former host of MTV’s prank series Punk’d, Kutcher routinely staged elaborate pranks that put fellow celebrities in increasingly compromising situations.
Kutcher has mellowed out since then, especially after marrying longtime friend and former That ‘70s Show costar Mila Kunis. Although the two worked together on set, they didn’t start dating until years later. They share two children together, one son and one daughter.
Ashton Kutcher rose to fame for his role as Kelso in the sitcom That ‘70s Show. He then created, hosted, and produced Punk’d. He would later become a regular on the sitcom Two and a Half Men after replacing series mainstay Charlie Sheen.
More recently, Kutcher had a main role in the Netflix series The Ranch. He also made a cameo in an episode of the series The Boys. Recently, he revisited his role as Kelso in the reboot of That ‘70s Show, That ‘90s Show.
Ashton Kutcher moved from television to film with 1999’s romantic comedy Coming Soon. His role in 2000’s Dude, Where’s My Car? made the movie a box office hit and it continues to maintain a cult following.
Since then, he’s been featured in dozens of films, and cemented himself as a reliable and recognizable face in Hollywood. Some of his notable film appearances are Just Married, My Boss’ Daughter, The Butterfly Effect, and Guess Who.
His recent cameo appearance as Kelso on That ‘90s Show shows that sometimes a blast from the past can be engaging. He’s on the edge of a film comeback with appearances in the upcoming films Your Place or Mine alongside Reese Witherspoon and in the James Franco-directed The Long Way Home. Still, one thing that probably won’t be making a comeback anytime soon is Kutcher’s relationship with drugs.
