See Yellowstone’s Kelsey Asbille Put On Lipstick In A Sexy Strapless Dress
Kelsey Asbille posted pictures on her Instagram looking glamorous as ever while getting ready for the Critics Choice Awards.
Kelsey Asbille is a star of the hit show Yellowstone, playing Monica Dutton, the Native American wife of heir apparent Casey. Now she is also a beauty partner for Yves Saint Laurent, the cosmetics and fashion company, having donned their clothing for many high-profile events, such as the show’s premiere, reported by Parade. In a new Instagram post, the actress shows pictures of herself in an elegant black dress, putting on YSL lipstick in preparation for the Critics Choice Awards.
In the first picture, the lipstick is being applied with a brush by a makeup artist that is mostly off-camera, while a hair stylist works on Kelsey Asbille’s hair. A black wrap adorns her throat but reveals her neckline. She gazes downward, patiently waiting for them to finish the look.
The other picture has Kelsey Asbille elegantly posing on a posh balcony, applying the color herself. The sun shines over trees and pristine white buildings beyond her as she leans against the wall with her favorite shade. The picture could have been a painting by a Renaissance master in an era past.
Kelsey Asbille is no stranger to acting or modeling, which means she is used to sitting for sessions with makeup and hair stylists. Starting her career by the name Kelsey Chow, she started acting on television on One Tree Hill in 2005. This led to guest appearances on Disney shows like The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and a starring role in Pair of Kings.
In 2017, Kelsey Asbille worked with Taylor Sheridan on the movie Wind River, in which she plays the victim of a murder being investigated by the FBI. This appearance would lead to her role in the writer-director’s cowboy epic Yellowstone, as well as marking the second time she’s worked with fellow co-star Gil Birmingham. Wind River starred Elizabeth Olsen and Jeremy Renner, who had previously worked together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Since then, Kelsey Asbille has been playing Monica Dutton in Yellowstone, a tragic heroine who has seen her share of tribulation. Over the course of the series, she has been assaulted, accused of shoplifting, lost her brother to violence, watched her son shoot someone in self-defense, and lost a child to a tragic accident. In the first half of the recent season, she and Casey are managing their marriage in the face of the challenges the Duttons must endure, including political intrigue and financial plotting that threaten the ranch.
Her real life has been far less turbulent but has not been without controversy. After using the name “Kelsey Chow” professionally for many years, she switched to “Kelsey Asbille” when she began to play Native American roles in Wind River, Fargo, and Yellowstone. She also claimed to be Cherokee, but the Cherokee Nation reported that they had no record of her.
Despite that, Kelsey Asbille has played the part of Monica Dutton with aplomb, helping make the show a hit for five seasons. Yellowstone seasons 1 through 4 can be streamed on Peacock, but the most recent fifth season is only on Paramount Network. Monica Dutton doesn’t get to wear YSL very often, but Kesley Asbille is just as elegant in the role.
