It’s official: WandaVision’s delightfully wicked, meme-worthy Agatha Harkness is getting her own spin-off. And, according to rumors, Marvel’s new Agatha: Coven of Chaos may just be a musical, too. When TVLine spoke with Kathryn Hahn about what she was looking forward to most about playing Agatha again, she said, “Um, her costumes and her nails. They’re fabulous. And who knows, there may be a little song here or there… but no one is saying anything about that — certainly not me!”

So does this mean we’re about to get a Marvel musical? We’re not sure. But we do know that Grammy- and Tony-winning actress Patti Lupone will be one of several new faces in Agatha: Coven of Chaos, which certainly opens the door for some singing and dancing.

There is also the fact that in the WandaVision series, the episode in which it was revealed that the oh-so-neighborly “Agnes” was actually a powerful witch named Agatha all along featured a song so captivating that it won an Emmy. So, it seems like a given that we will see more songs like “Agatha All Along” in Marvel’s Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

Whether or not it will be a full-fledged musical is yet to be seen, but we already know that the cast of Marvel’s Agatha: Coven of Chaos will feature returning stars like Emma Caulfield Ford as Dottie and Debra Jo Rupp as Mrs. Hart. Plus, there will be new cast members like Aubrey Plaza from Parks and Recreation, Joe Locke from Heartstopper, Maria Dizzia from Orange is the New Black, and Ali Ahn from Raising Dion.

So far, Marvel has kept details about the plot of Agatha: Coven of Chaos a mystery. But seeing as the show is about not just one, but a coven of witches, it would be a fair guess to say that it may give viewers the chance to meet some of Marvel comics’ other famous sorceresses along the way.

Marvel’s Agatha: Coven of Chaos will most likely also give viewers a chance to see Agatha break back out of her “Agnes” persona. Wanda Maximoff trapped her in that character at the end of WandaVision. Will she realize slowly, over time, that she’s not really just a cheerful resident of Westview much like Wanda did? Or will we find out she is aware of herself all along, she is just stuck in this Stepford Wife-like persona until she can find a way to break out?

The bad news is, we will all have to wait quite a while to find out. Marvel’s Agatha: Coven of Chaos is set to premiere in the winter 2023/2024 television season and filming is just getting started in Atlanta, Georgia as we speak.

The good news is, those who need a hit of Kathryn Hahn to tide them over in the meantime can check out Tiny Beautiful Things on Hulu. The series stars Hahn as a woman named Clare who becomes a breakout advice columnist just as her own life breaks up. This one is set to premiere in April 2023 and is based on a collection of advice columns written by the anonymous “Sugar,” who turned out to be Cheryl Strayed, the real-life writer of Wild
