Boba Fett Making A Surprise Appearance In New Star Wars Series?
Star Wars: The Bad Batch's showrunner says it isn't time yet for Boba Fett to appear in the series, but "never say never."
The first two episodes Star Wars: The Bad Batch‘s Season premiered on Disney+ on Wednesday, and fans are still waiting for an infamous bounty hunter to show up. Will Boba Fett eventually make an appearance in The Bad Batch? According to showrunner Jennifer Corbett, you shouldn’t expect the future Tattooine crime boss to show up on the Clone Wars spinoff this season, but she hopes it happens eventually.
Corbett spoke to The Direct recently and was asked about the possibility of Boba Fett appearing. In Season 1 of The Bad Batch, fans learned that Boba has a sister — Omega (voiced by Michelle Ang), another clone of the late Jango Fett. The site reports Corbett “hopes for the two to cross paths,” but says that now isn’t the time.
“I think a lot of people want that because they are brother and sister but it’s important for her, at this point in her life, and where her journey is – she’s at a very different place than where Boba is right now.”

As Corbett points out, in spite of a shared lineage, Boba Fett and Omega are on very different paths at the time of Star Wars: The Bad Batch. While Omega has found a family amongst Clone Force 99, Boba’s time is much more solitary, as he’s already working as a bounty hunter by the end of The Clone Wars. Corbett said she wants to focus more on Omega’s “trajectory” rather than Boba’s, but she made sure to add “never say never.”
Whether or not Boba Fett ever shows up on The Bad Batch, his future overall in the Star Wars mythos is unclear. Both fans and critics were largely underwhelmed by the highly anticipated The Book of Boba Fett. The show was promoted as something of a mobster series in space, but — among some other shortcomings — it turned out more like The Mandalorian Season 2.5.
In fact, in spite of The Book of Boba Fett lasting only seven episodes, the fifth episode is almost solely concerned with Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin, as well as the return of the adorable Grogu. The series pulled off a lot of similarly spectacular fan-service moments; such as the live-action premieres of characters Black Krrsantan (Carey Jones) and Cad Bane (Corey Burton), guest appearances by Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker and Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, the return of Timothy Olyphant as Cobb Vanth, and of course the introduction of Danny Trejo into the Star Wars mythos as a Rancor Keeper. Unfortunately, the story of the titular bounty hunter suffered.
Regardless, streaming numbers for The Book of Boba Fett were spectacular, prompting discussion of a possible second season. There’s no official word on that yet, but in the meantime, there’s always the possibility we could see him return in Season 3 of The Mandalorian, which premieres on Disney+ on March 1.
