She-Hulk Returning, But Not In Her Own Show?
Charlie Cox says he wants Tatiana Maslany to return as She-Hulk in Daredevil: Born Again.
After crashing onto Disney+ back in August, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law quickly smashed hearts everywhere, telling the story of the lawyer by day and big green hero by night, Jennifer Walters. Like many other MCU shows that were recently released to the house of mouse’s streaming platform, fans have been wondering when they will spot the legendary hero again. As of right now, a second season hasn’t been announced for She-Hulk, but because of the cut-it-with-a-knife tension between Tatiana Maslany’s titular character and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, the latter actor teased the possibility we’ll see their relationship play out further on the upcoming series, Daredevil: Born Again.
In a recent interview with Metro, Charlie Cox laid some groundwork, teasing the possibility of a She-Hulk/Daredevil crossover saying that while he couldn’t promise anything, he was “certainly an advocate” of Tatiana Maslany’s character making at least a guest appearance in the series. He also revealed that all the fun wasn’t just on-screen, as Cox said that his time appearing as Daredevil in the production was “some of the best fun I’ve had as that character.” Adding that he was “a huge fan of Tatiana’s” and that should the actress be “free and available and willing,” the Stardust star said that he would “love” for the crossover to happen.
Playing down our hopes, Cox rounded out his She-Hulk-crashes-Daredevil statement by saying that he has “no idea if that is possible,” but having his support is at least half the battle. During his chat, the star also made comments surrounding his wish for Daredevil to make it into other MCU storylines, saying that while at this time he only knows about Daredevil: Born Again, he hopes his character will appear in other projects. Last year, Cox and his character made audiences everywhere gasp when his character held a small, but mighty, cameo in the critically acclaimed Spider-Man: No Way Home.
As for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, the Jessica Gao-created series followed the titular character both inside and outside the courtroom where she represented those with superhuman abilities. In the series, Jessica Walters, aka She-Hulk, and Matt Murdock aka Daredevil share the classic Marvel hero clash and then team up, but in their case, it was followed by a passionate night in the bedroom.
Along with Tatiana Maslany as She-Hulk and Charlie Cox as Daredevil, the series also features Jameela Jamil, Ginger Gonzaga, Mark Ruffalo, Josh Segarra, Mark Linn-Baker, Tess Malis Kincaid, Tim Roth, Megan Thee Stallion, Benedict Wong, Jon Bass, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Rhys Coiro. The nine-episode series marked the end of Marvel’s televised projects for Phase Four, closing out a strong run with other hits like WandaVision, Loki, and Hawkeye preceding it. As for Daredevil: Born Again, audiences will need to wait another year to see the continuation story of Charlie Cox’s vigilante lawyer on Disney+ after the series initially bowed out on Netflix back in 2018.
