Jenna Ortega Came Up With Wednesday’s Best Scene
The world is currently obsessed with Jenna Ortega and the Wednesday series on Netflix. The new take on the Addams Family has exploded into the #1 most-watched show on Netflix in its first week of release, beating out Stranger Things Season 4. People are even more obsessed with Ortega’s big dancing moment, which she recently revealed was choreographed by her, in a new behind-the-scenes video that you can see below:
The new video showcases Jenna Ortega and the cast of Wednesday reacting to scenes from the show, including Ortega speaking about the dancing number, which everyone has been talking about just as much as the show itself. Ortega claims that she is not a dancer by any means in the above video, but she could have fooled us, as the moves she engages in look as though she has been dancing for quite some time. One of the best lines comes from Luis Guzman, who plays Gomez Addams in the show, as he says, “is that guy hitting on my daughter?”
Jenna Ortega’s wild dancing in the Wednesday clip is accompanied perfectly by The Cramps, and the song playing, which is called “Goo Goo Muck.” The Cramps have been known to be a more gothic rockabilly type of band, and it pairs perfectly with the macabre stylings of both Tim Burton and the Addams Family. The dancing number and the series have certainly been making waves, as it has become the biggest highlight of 2022 for Netflix.
Though Stranger Things Season 4 was beaten out of the hours watched in the first week of its release, Jenna Ortega and Wednesday will have to keep those numbers going to take away the most hours watched in a month, which Netflix measures in the first 28 days of release. Sitting in the #1 spot is Squid Game with 1.65 billion hours, and right behind in the #2 spot is Stranger Things Season 4 with 1.35 billion hours. We are not saying that Wednesday is going to beat those numbers but taking over the most-watched English-language show in the first week of release bodes well for the new Addams Family adventure.
Jenna Ortega leads the cast on Wednesday along with Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzman as Gomez Addams, Fred Armisen as Uncle Lester, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, George Burcea as Lurch, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsly Addams. The series was produced and created by Tim Burton, who also directs four of the eight episodes. James Marshall and Gandja Monteiro also served as directors for the series, handling that duty for two episodes each.
Everyone can see Jenna Ortega as Wednesday in the new series that is captivating audiences around the world. The above video is only one of the great moments in the show, and it is always interesting to know where certain ideas come from, including Ortega’s choreography idea for Wednesday’s big dancing number. This new take on everyone’s favorite macabre family is a massive hit, and it is certainly worth the watch, especially if you grew up loving the Addams Family.
