The low-cut dress Amy Adams wore to the Disenchanted premiere, as shared on Twitter, is a fashion throwback to her low-cut white blouse from 2007’s Enchanted premiere. The stunning star, now 48, turned heads on the red carpet by looking even better 15 years after the first movie. While her co-star Patrick Dempsey continues to be one of Hollywood’s most handsome leading men, he was outshined by Adams.

The low-cut deep purple dress emphasized Amy Adams’ fit and athletic body, while retaining an old Hollywood style. A small train on the back of the dress added to the ensemble, while the star’s trademark red locks flowed like an elegant waterfall down her right side. The Golden Globe winner has been bringing style and beauty to red carpets for 20 years, following her major film debut in the Leonardo DiCaprio film Catch Me If You Can.

Disenchanted, the long-in-development sequel to Enchanted, reunites Amy Adams’ Princess Giselle with Patrick Dempsey’s Robert after the two characters found wedded bliss after the whirlwind events of the first movie. As the title implies, Princess Giselle starts questioning her “Ever After”, which results in chaos for both the real world and the fairy tale land of Andalasia. James Marsden returns as Prince Edward, potentially to again complicate life for Princess Giselle and stir up some old feelings for her original storybook love.

Frozen’s Idina Menzel returns with Maya Rudolph and Community star Yvette Nicole-Brown also joining the cast of the sequel. Despite the success Amy Adams has had in dramatic roles since the release of Enchanted, fans have been clamoring for her to return as Princess Giselle. Being part of a star-studded ensemble is now just a regular occurrence for Adams, as is being nominated for some of the most prestigious acting awards in Hollywood.

Since 2007, Amy Adams has been nominated for the following: five Academy Awards, three AACTA International Awards, seven British Academy Film Awards, seven Critic’s Choice Movie awards, nine Golden Globe Awards, and two Golden Raspberry Awards from the Razzies. 2014 and 2015 saw Adams win the Best Actress Golden Globe two years in a row, for American Hustle and Big Eyes, respectively. Between movie premieres and the constant stream of award nominations, it is no wonder that the star knows how to steal the show on the red carpet.

In more recent years, Amy Adams has continued to choose dramatic roles in films that have been poorly received. Despite the critical reception for Dear Evan Hansen and The Woman in The Window, critics pointed out that Adams is usually the one dependable bright spot in otherwise disappointing films. The adaptation of Ohio Senator J.D. Vance’s Hillbilly Elegy is an example of a poorly-received film for which Adams received praise, including a nomination for the Screen Actor’s Guild Award for Best Female in a Leading Role.

Earlier this year, Amy Adams starred in a West End Theatre production of The Glass Menagerie, again to rave reviews from most critics. The fan-favorite and critical darling actress has new projects lined up under her own production company, including an adaptation of the satirical novel Nightbitch. For now, fans can catch Adams as Princess Giselle in Disenchanted, available for streaming on Disney+ starting November 18th.
