Sydney Sweeney Is Upset That Her Family Can See Her Nudes
In a recent interview, Sydney Sweeney expressed frustration over Internet trolls tagging her family members in shots of her nude scenes.
Within the last couple of years, many young actors have attempted to make their mark on Hollywood, but Sydney Sweeney might be the most victorious of them all. Having starred in two seasons of HBO’s Euphoria and the first season of Mike White’s anthology series The White Lotus, Sweeney has made headlines for her fashion choices and acting skills. In a recent interview with GQ, Sweeney discussed the demand of nude scenes in her career and how it has affected her family, noting that many of Euphoria’s fans have taken screenshots of her scenes and posted them to Instagram for the world to see.
Frustrated by the onslaught of upsetting comments and ridicule coming from internet trolls, Sydney Sweeney divulged to GQ that “It got to the point where they were tagging my family” in Instagram photos of the young actor nude. She noted that her cousins don’t really need to be tagged in these pictures, nor would they care to actually view them. The nude scenes that 25 year-old Sydney Sweeney has participated in have mostly taken place in the first season of Euphoria, although the actor has not ruled out the possibility of similar scenes in the future.
While not the first performer to ever show her naked body on a television series, Sydney Sweeney might be the latest actor to get grief from fans for doing so. However, it appears that she doesn’t have an issue with these types of scenes or portrayals, as long as those who wish to watch her content choose to do so on their own time, and not forced to by strangers tagging them in pictures of her naked body. The actor seems to be drawing a distinct line when it comes to her family.
In 2022, Sydney Sweeney was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards for her supporting performances in The White Lotus and Euphoria, both of which were featured on HBO and HBO Max. Euphoria deals primarily with high school students in Los Angeles who take on major issues of the day such as drug addiction, sex, and violence within their community. The series is highly rated for HBO since its 2019 debut, and was renewed for a third season that Sweeney will soon reprise her role in alongside fellow costars Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Eric Dane, Angus Cloud, and Jacob Elordi.
After the success of Euphoria and her stint on the first season of The White Lotus, Sydney Sweeney looks to be moving on with her career in new and different ways. The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star will be joining the Sony Spider-Man Universe alongside Dakota Johnson in the highly anticipated new feature Madame Web. Madame Web is slated for a release date of February 16, 2024 and will co-star with Severance actor Adam Scott, Emma Roberts, and The Flight Attendant star Zosia Mamet.
