Pamela Anderson hasn’t done much in the way of motion pictures since 2018, when she appeared in the action-comedy City Hunter as the character Jessica Fox alongside Julien Arruti, Didier Bourdon, Audrey Lamy, and Tarek Boudali. According to Deadline, however, the former Baywatch star is set to return to the big screen in an upcoming erotic horror flick called Alone at Night (previously titled 18 & Over). Vertical Entertainment recently picked up North American distribution rights for the feature, with plans to release it in theaters and digitally January 20th, 2023.

In the forthcoming horror film, Vicky, a young woman seeking an escape following a tumultuous breakup, retreats to a friend’s remote cabin in the woods to clear her head while continuing to model sexy lingerie on 18 & Over, an adults-only, live-streaming website.

After the cabin loses power, she realizes something horrifying awaits in the dark in the form of a crowbar-wielding masked psychopath who’s hellbent on bringing her night to a gruesome end. Pamela Anderson is set to play a character named Sheriff Fox in the upcoming flick.

Alone at Night was helmed by Jimmy Giannopoulos, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Diomedes Raul Bermudez. In addition to Pamela Anderson, the upcoming film stars Janice Blue, Cassius Corrigan, Sky Ferreira, Jon Foster, Luis Guzman, Paris Hilton, and Ashley Benson. Gerald Earl Gillum, better known as acclaimed rapper G-Easy, will also appear in the film, for which he composed the original score.

The upcoming horror movie marks the first collaboration between director Jimmy Giannopoulos and Pamela Anderson, however, it’s the second time Ashley Benson and Luis Guzman have worked with the filmmaker. Both stars appeared alongside an ensemble cast including Ewan McGregor, Val Kilmer, William Fichtner, Penn Badgley, and Jeremy Allen White in the 2021 crime thriller The Birthday Cake. Giannopoulos wrote and directed the feature, which audiences absolutely loved but critics completely despised.

Although Pamela Anderson herself hasn’t appeared in any movies or televisions shows in several years, the former Playboy model was portrayed by actress Lily James in the acclaimed Hulu limited series Pam & Tommy. The show follows the story of Anderson and Lee’s relationship, dating all the way back to their whirlwind romance that began with them getting married after only knowing one another for 96 hours in 1995. Sebastian Stan, known best for his role as The Winter Soldier in the MCU, played Tommy Lee in the series, which was nominated for several Primetime Emmy Awards.

Back in February, reports surfaced that Pamela Anderson wasn’t a fan of the way she was portrayed in the series. According to Entertainment Weekly, a source close to the actress revealed that she’d never watch the show, or even the trailer for that matter.

A month later, Pamela Anderson took to her Instagram, appearing to dispute Hulu’s depiction of her experience and tease an upcoming Netflix movie that would allow her to tell her side of the story, but at this time, nothing looks to be in development on the streaming platform.
