MGK and Megan Fox – How Did Machine Gun Kelly And The Actress Meet?
Machine Gun Kelly or MGK and Megan Fox met on the set of Midnight in the Sawgrass and have had a high-profile relationship that's been featured on Instagram.
Say what you want about Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) and Megan Fox, but from all appearances, they appear to be perfect for each other. Both the musician and the actress like to live life on the fringe of reality and certainly have no problem airing their personal lives just about any chance they get.
Even with their recent dust-up the pair seem destined for the altar, whatever that looks like in their eyes, so let’s take a look at MGK and Megan Fox and see what has led them to consider tying the knot.
MGK AND MEGAN FOX MET ON THE SET OF MIDNIGHT IN THE SAWGRASS
It is a well-known fact that MGK and Megan Fox met on the set of the 2021 (though filming took place in 2020) action flick Midnight in the Switchgrass, which also starred Bruce Willis, Emile Hirsch, and Lukas Haas. Machine Gun Kelly was given credit as Colson Baker (his real name) for his part as Calvin. According to Fox, the world thinks this was her and Baker’s first meeting, but they actually had met a few years prior.
Fox told GQ UK in an interview together with her and Machine Gun Kelly that she briefly met Baker at a GQ party in Los Angeles. “This weird thing happened,” Fox explained. “We didn’t see each other.” Then she asked Baker, “Do you remember [seeing] my face?”
He responded, saying, “That’s what’s crazy. I don’t. I don’t remember your face.” And here is where MGK and Megan Fox’s relationship begins to define itself. “I don’t remember your face… And I definitely would have remembered his face,” she says. “I just remember this tall, blond, ghostly creature and I looked up and I was like, ‘You smell like weed.’ He looked down at me and he was like, ‘I am weed.’ Then, I swear to God, he disappeared like a ninja in a smoke bomb.”
Then she explained her theory which, again, goes into how MGK and Megan Fox view each other. “I think we weren’t allowed to see each other yet. We weren’t supposed to run into each other that night, so our souls, our spirit guides, were luring us away from each other, because you literally had no face, like that thing from Spirited Away. It is hard to see his face in general, but really he had no face that night.” Then she tells Baker, “Thank God, [because] what torture had I known you were there and I couldn’t get to you. It was better that I didn’t know.”
MGK AND MEGAN FOX DIDN’T HOOK UP RIGHT AWAY
So, back to the “first time” when Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox saw each other on the set of Midnight in the Switchgrass. Fox knew right then, as MGK was delivering his character’s line to Fox’s character, that there was going to be more to this meeting. “It was obvious from [the] second one what it was going to be,” Fox says of their destined relationship, “but we didn’t hook up right away.”
Not only was there no hookup between MGK and Megan Fox, but as Machine Gun Kelly recalls it, Fox wouldn’t even kiss him. “Even our first kiss, she wouldn’t kiss me. We just put our lips right in front of each other and breathed each other’s breath and then she just left.”
Fox explained that it was her heart that she was protecting. She was split from her husband of 11 years, actor Brian Austin Green (they have three children as well) and she wasn’t looking for love. Fox says she felt she was open to falling in love again, but she didn’t think she’d be “walking right into my soulmate like that.”
THEY WENT ON THEIR FIRST DATE IN A 1974 CADILLAC
The pair finally got to take their first date. When Machine Gun Kelly arrived to pick Megan Fox up, he drove up in a 1974 Cadillac convertible. As they drove off, MGK put on some Ella Fitzgerald music.
He took an unknowing Fox to the edge of a canyon where a friend had set up a picnic on a blanket surrounded by a sea of roses. After they finished their picnic, he then drove Fox down Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles to the Roxy Theater. Although the theater was closed, they still found their way in and up to the roof, where MGK finally got the real thing. “We went to the roof and played pop punk and made out.”
MEGAN FOX SAYS MACHINE GUN KELLY LETS HER FINALLY BE HER REAL SELF
It is hard to say that Megan Fox’s entire marriage to Brian Austin Green was terrible, they do have three children. But listening to Fox tell it, the marriage perhaps stifled the real Megan Fox. “You know, famously, like, I’m an unusual person,” she explained. “And I had buried a lot of that because it didn’t have a place to live.” When it came to MGK and Megan Fox, there seemed to be no such issue.
Again, though, Fox believes she has finally found her soulmate. The one person who allows her to be herself while she allows MGK to be his authentic self. “That’s something that, meeting him, it’s like meeting your own soul’s reflection. I recognize so much of myself in him, and vice versa, and that locked-up part of me that I had put away. I’d always felt like there was that thing missing, that I’d given up on, that you’re always seeking. But then you meet the person that completes that for you and you’re like, ‘Oh, this is what my heart was searching for. That’s what that beacon was this whole time.’”
MGK AND MEGAN FOX ARE ON INSTAGRAM
Anyone who is anyone and dialed into social media knows that both MGK and Megan Fox have lots of love for social media. They post constantly and if you look at any of their postings, everything appears to be staged. They are always on point with hair, makeup, and clothing, so what is real, and what is less than real?
One thing is for sure, the blood ritual with MGK and Megan Fox is very real. “So, I guess to drink each other’s blood might mislead people or people are imagining us with goblets and we’re like ‘Game of Thrones,’ drinking each other’s blood,” she said via CNN. “It’s just a few drops, but yes, we do consume each other’s blood on occasion for ritual purposes only.”
Ritual purposes? Fox says that the blood ritual is a “passage,” or they use it “for a reason.” Then she continued explaining what it was all about. “And it is controlled where it’s like, ‘Let’s shed a few drops of blood and each drink it,’” Fox said. “He’s much more haphazard and hectic and chaotic, where he’s willing to just cut his chest open with broken glass and be like, ‘Take my soul.’” Yikes.
THEY APPEARED AT THE TIME100 NEXT GALA TOGETHER
If you haven’t noticed this about Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox, they like to make a statement when they are out in the public, especially when attending special events. Take, for instance, their appearance at the Time100 Next Gala in New York City. The fashionably coordinated couple arrived in style (their own eclectic style, that is) and tongues immediately started wagging as the paparazzi took one picture after another.
Machine Gun Kelly, who has never been shy about showing off his fashion sensibility, arrived wearing tight black leather pants, long leather sleeves that came complete with built-in gloves, and a sheer corset that showed off his heavily tattooed body. To top it off, literally, MGK also had his hair pinned up in a Targaryen-type man bun. The look definitely says Machine Gun Kelly.
For Megan Fox’s part, she was a little more subdued and wore a Maison Yeya gold strapless gown that sported a slit on the side that went all the way up. She also wore metallic sandals, but the biggest eye-opener wasn’t the dress with said slit, it was her hair, which Fox swapped her normal dark look for an eye-opening red. Yes, Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox know how to make an appearance and have no issue taking to social media to show off.
THEY ARE NOT MARRIED, BUT MGK CALLED MEGAN FOX HIS WIFE
It hasn’t been an easy road, regardless of the outward appearance. According to those around the couple, Machine Gun Kelly is not the easiest person to be with. Sources told US Weekly that MGK and Fox have been working hard to build their relationship, even though they got engaged in January.
Megan Fox, at 36 years old, is four years MGK’s senior and it has been said that he still has that teenager in him that gets out from time to time. It is something that has worn thin on Fox, and something Machine Gun Kelly has been working hard at controlling. But there have been times when he just wants to stay out late and party while Fox is content with going home early.
Things apparently got so bad between the couple a few months back that Fox was completely done with MGK. She was tired of his antics, and it got really bad. But give the couple credit, they have worked their way through the trouble and have their sights set on their nuptials.
The problem the couple is running into is busy schedules and finding the right place to marry. Machine Gun Kelly also had to snuff out rumors that he and Megan Fox secretly got married earlier this summer. Speculation started when MGK referred to Fox as his “wife” during his performance at the Billboard Music Awards.
Machine Gun Kelly eventually went on record to set it straight by saying his calling Fox his wife was simply a sign of respect. “I think when I speak about terminology — it never felt like my girlfriend,” he told ET. “It feels too adolescent for the depth of our relationship.”
It now appears that it’s not a matter of if, but when. Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox have had their ups and downs, but what Hollywood couple hasn’t? They seem perfect for each other, in all their weird ways.
