When Mariah Carey takes a morning stroll, she doesn’t mess around. The singer was caught on camera earlier this week with boyfriend Bryan Tanaka in a tantalizing see-through black dress with a thong beneath. You can see some shots of the Queen of Christmas above.

As reported by Yahoo!, this revealing appearance comes shortly after Mariah Carey announced that she’ll be publishing a new project just in time for the holidays. Written by Carey and Michaela Angela Davis, with illustrations by Fuuji Takashiu, the children’s picture book The Christmas Princess will be released on November 1st. The hero of the tale is “Little Mariah.”

Mariah Carey has been synonymous with the holidays ever since her hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” from her 1994 album Merry Christmas. As much as the singer has profited from the song, earlier this year she–along with Sony Entertainment–was slapped with a lawsuit over it. Andy Stone, who performs under the pseudonym Vince Vance of Vince Vance & The Valiants, filed the suit against Carey.

Stone claims he wrote a variation of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You”, likewise saying it got extensive radio play the year before Merry Christmas was released. Stone is asking for $20 million for alleged copyright infringement. News about the legal action broke in June and there haven’t been any public developments since.

Believe it or not, Vince Vance & The Valiants are not the only folks locking legal horns with Mariah Carey over the success of her holiday tune; not even this year. In August, Variety reported that Carey was attempting to trademark “Queen of Christmas” and that some other singers had stepped up say “excuse me?” Darlene Love–who appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman every year between 1993 and 2014 to perform “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)”–boasted that Letterman had “officially declared” her the “Queen of Christmas” and that anyone who had issue with it could talk with her lawyer.

Meanwhile Elizabeth Chan, who devotes herself exclusively to creating holiday music, released an album actually titled The Queen of Christmas in 2021. Chan went one step further than Love, and decided not to wait for Mariah or anyone else to contact her lawyer. Instead she took the matter to court herself in order to challenge the trademark bid.

So how has Mariah Carey dealt with all these legal battles coming up in so short a time? Well one way she might be helping her emotional well being is by watching the same movie over and over and over and over. Back in August, the singer revealed that she was watching Ryan Reynolds’ action comedy Free Guy for the ninth time.

Of course, we suspect just a little bit of Mariah Carey’s obsession with the film could have to do with some self-indulgence. Carey’s hit “Fantasy” features prominently in the flick, and apparently was a source of inspiration for star Ryan Reynolds.
