Chloë Grace Moretz has met with Marvel Studios about a potential future project. The actress made the revelation during an interview with ComicBook, saying she would love to return to the world of superheroes. “I would be interested in playing a villain and jumping into the darker side of the role,” she told the publication. “I think that’d be really fun.”
Speaking about the perfect role, the 25-year-old explained that it’s all about finding the one that matches what you want to get across. The scope of the character is also important to the Kick-Ass alum. “I think it’d be really fun if it was the right role and the right project,” Chloë Grace Moretz continued. But the ambiguity of her comments regarding Marvel leaves a lot more questions than answers.
It’s entirely unclear if Chloë Grace Moretz met Marvel for a specific project, a specific role, or how long ago the discussion happened. If she does join the MCU, a role that she may be up for is the Fantastic Four’s Sue Storm. While Kevin Feige previously confirmed that the movie won’t be an origin story, he never specified if it will follow a young or older version of the group.
If it’s the former, the actress would be 27 by the time the Matt Shakman-directed project hit theaters, making her a great fit for the Invisible Woman. Meanwhile, Chloë Grace Moretz fans can catch her in Prime Video’s upcoming series, The Peripheral. Created by Scott Smith, the show is based on the 2014 book of the same name by William Gibson.
Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy serve as executive producers, along with Athena Wickham, Steve Hoban, and Vincenzo Natali. The Peripheral is scheduled to premiere on October 21. Starring alongside, Chloë Grace Moretz is Jack Reynor, Gary Carr, Eli Goree, JJ Feild, T’Nia Miller, Charlotte Riley, Alex Hernandez, Adelind Horan, Amber Rose Revah, and Austin Rising.
The story follows a young woman named Flynne Fisher (Chloë Grace Moretz) who travels from 2032 to 2099 by entering virtual simulations for quick cash to help pay for her dying mother’s medical bills. The trailer for the series showcases the polished sci-fi story while critiquing society’s ever-growing obsession with technology. The clip begins with Flynne entering a simulation that her brother was asked to perform a beta test on.
Once inside the virtual world, Chloë Grace Moretz’s character experiences a futuristic version of London in the year 2099 through an avatar. But things take a dark turn when danger in the simulation starts to blend into the present. The mind-bending trailer offers a lot of information and is reminiscent of Ready Player One and The Matrix. It also shows that the series will blend themes of time travel with an exploration of the dangers of technology.
Chloë Grace Moretz will also lend her voice to a character in Nimona. The upcoming computer-animated science fantasy adventure comedy is based on the comic series of the same name by ND Stevenson. Directed by Nick Bruno and Troy Quane from a screenplay by Marc Haimes, it also features the voices of Riz Ahmed and Eugene Lee Yang. The film is currently set for a 2023 release on Netflix.
