More than most movie stars, Brie Larson walks the fine line between relatably goofy and almost unbearably glamorous. In this new image posted to her very popular Instagram account (seven million followers and counting), Brie Larson skews toward the latter, showing off a sleek, tight black dress and the kind of serious expression favored by high fashion models. It just goes to show that there is a difference between mere mortals who tend to be stuck in one mode and Brie Larson, who apparently can do anything.

In this social media picture, Brie Larson is sporting a dress from fashion designer Carolina Herrera. On another person, the black dress could almost seem demure, but something about the low, square-cut neckline and figure-hugging design only highlights the Marvel star’s ability to project glamour. It also helps that Brie Larson is immaculately styled by makeup artist Nina Park, who has given her an understated yet commanding look via darkly painted lips and accentuating her high, angular cheekbones.

Brie Larson’s Instagram account tends to be equal parts the actress posing in high-fashion shots, hanging out in pastorally perfect nature spots, and eating a whole bunch of sushi with her boyfriend, augmented-reality artist Elijah Allan-Blitz. Recently, Brie Larson collaborated with Allan-Blitz in the short AR film Remembering, which starred the actress as an unnamed young artist reconnecting with her inner child to reclaim forgotten ideas. It is a bit of a different angle for Brie Larson than MCU movies, but was still premiered on the Disney+ streaming service (probably thanks to said Marvel connections).

Brie Larson has not appeared as the cosmically-powered Carol Danvers in a full-length role since 2019, in which she starred in both Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame. She did appear for a mid-credits scene in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, but we will all have to wait until next year for The Marvels to see what her MCU future holds. The movie was retitled from Captain Marvel 2 to The Marvels back in September of 2021 to indicate that the film would not solely focus on Brie Larson’s character, but several related ones.

Specifically, The Marvels will pair Brie Larson with Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, with the plot reportedly involving the trio switching places every time they use their powers. Considering Captain Marvel is one of the most powerful entities in the universe and Kamala Khan is a New Jersey teen, this seems like it could get tricky fast, but that is presumably why Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) will also be showing up to dispense some gruff advice.

In addition to The Marvels, Brie Larson will soon be starring in Fast X, the tenth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise. Almost nothing has been revealed about the plot of that film so far, but it is safe to say there will probably be some powerful cars, over-the-top action, and Tyrese Gibson being put in embarrassing situations.
