Disneyland is officially bringing Black Panther’s M’Baku to the Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park. This isn’t too surprising, considering Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is just around the corner. It makes sense that Disney would want to increase hype and anticipation wherever they can, including their theme parks.

Disneyland hasn’t announced when exactly M’Baku would be returning, but it seems likely that it would be much sooner than later so there’s plenty of time for fans to meet the character before and after the release of the movie. It does seem like this will be a limited-time character, so if you’re wanting to get your pictures with the mighty M’Baku you’ll probably want to get to Disneyland sometime around the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Plus, it seems likely that M’Baku won’t be the only character making an appearance.

Disneyland Tweeted about the announcement and even gave us a sneak peek of M’Baku in character. They also teased that there will be more surprises at the Avengers campus to celebrate Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘s release. With M’Baku set to play a big role in the upcoming sequel, having him make an appearance definitely seems like a subtle hint from Disney.

Disneyland could be adding characters, like M’Baku, who have the chance of taking on the mantle of the Black Panther. M’Baku is portrayed on-screen by Winston Duke and is the fierce leader of Wakanda’s Jabari Tribe. After the passing of Chadwick Boseman, fans have been wondering who will suit up in his place.

While M’Baku is certainly a candidate, the recent trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever makes it seem like Shuri will actually be taking on the mantle of Black Panther. Shuri (Letitia Wright) does seem like the natural replacement for T’Challa, considering she’s a genius and royalty since she’s T’Challa’s sister. Disneyland could introduce Shuri to the Avengers Campus closer to the release and they may even have plans to have Shuri suited up in the Black Panther costume after the movie comes out.

If Disneyland introduces both Shuri and M’Baku to the Avengers Campus before the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it will certainly increase speculation about who will take on the duties of Wakanda’s protector. Of course, there are plenty of other interesting characters that Disneyland could introduce from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Characters like Ironheart and Namor would be great additions to Avengers Campus and would have costumes that really wow guests.

We’ll just have to wait and see who else Disneyland will introduce to Avengers Campus after M’Baku. We’ll also have to wait and see who will actually be replacing T’Challa when Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is released in theaters. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait too long.

You can catch Black Panther: Wakanda Forever when it hits theaters on November 11. Meanwhile, those visiting Disneyland can look forward to seeing M’Baku very soon. For Marvel’s most recent projects, you can check out the fantastic Werewolf by Night and the ongoing She-Hulk series on Disney+.
