Guy Pearce has stated that he would return to the MCU if Marvel emailed him back.

With the direction that the MCU is currently heading in, many past villains from earlier in the franchise are now aching to return in some form, especially considering the multiverse can make that happen. One of those villains bidding to return is none other than Alrich Killian, well, that’s to say Guy Pearce is bidding to return as Aldirch Killian in another Marvel movie. The Iron Man 3 actor stated that “I’m still waiting on an email back from Marvel.”
Guy Pearce was asked about his involvement in future MCU films, to which he replied he’s still waiting to hear back from Marvel about reprising his role as Killian. He now joins Sam Rockwell, who played Justin Hammer in Iron Man 2, as potential villains that have expressed interest in returning at some point. We do know that Iron Man is dead, as Tony Stark gave his life to save everyone in Avengers: Endgame, however, he is not to be succeeded by Riri Williams.
For those who are not familiar with Riri Williams, she takes on the role of Ironheart in the comics, a super savvy smart tech girl that creates an even more advanced suit of armor than Tony Stark ever had. She appears in the Black Panther 2 trailer alongside Shuri, as both are likely going to help one another tinker on their respective projects. Ironheart will also be receiving her own series in Phase 5 of the MCU, which could mean that Guy Pearce might return as Killian in the series, though this is just wild speculation.
Guy Pearce does understand that his character was essentially killed off in Iron Man 3, though he also understands that the multiverse could bring that character back, even if it’s just for a small cameo. Another big MCU movie that is taking place in Phase 6 is Avengers: Secret Wars, which brings together many multiverse versions of every character in the comics, so it stands to reason Marvel could replicate that same thing in the movie adaptation. The movie is likely to be one of the most ambitious Marvel movies yet, so it could be that we get to see all villains from past and present reunite one final time.
Post-credits scenes are an important part of every MCU entry, and we could see the shaping of Phase 5 and 6 movies as part of the post-credits scenes that take place within the next year. Though it would be a stretch of the imagination to see Guy Pearce return as Killian in one of those scenes, crazier things have certainly happened. Killian returning for Ironheart would make sense and could be some deep fan service, though we don’t believe it would happen.
Guy Pearce did play one of the best, if not the best, Iron Man villains in that franchise. That’s also not to mention how fantastic of an actor Pearce is, but that does not mean the man is going to get another crack at the MCU. While it would be great to see him return, we think he was just another villain that had to be dispatched for the greater good of the larger Marvel story.
