If you like TV series based on novel series, Amazon Prime is the place to go as they are the home to shows like Titis Welliver’s Bosch, John Krasinski’s Jack Ryan, Rosemund Pike’s The Wheel of Time, Morfydd Clark’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and Alan Ritchson’s Reacher. On July 1 of this year, Amazon released another series based on thriller novels, this time by Jack Carr, adapting his books following Navy Seal James Reece starring Chris Pratt, titled The Terminal List. Since it was a runaway hit, fans have been asking when they can expect season two to be on the way, and according to Deadline, Pratt says they have nothing to worry about.

Chris Pratt played Lieutenant Commander James Reece in season one of the Amazon Prime Original and sat down with the author of the books, Jack Karr, for his podcast, Danger Close, to discuss the series. When asked if there would be more, Pratt addressed what he called the rabid fans and said they had nothing to worry about and they love and appreciate the support. He said they are working away to ensure that the fans keep returning to the well for more of The Terminal List

Season one of the series follows Lieutenant Commander James Reece (Pratt) as the only survivor of an ambush that killed his entire team of Navy Seals, save for one other soldier who committed suicide when they returned. After being diagnosed with a fatal tumor in his brain, Reece discovers a massive cover-up involving everyone from his chain of command to politicians. He goes on a killing spree to take vengeance on all who wronged him and his team. The series also stars Constance Wu (Crazy Rich AsiansHustlers), Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night LightsJohn Carter), Jeanne Tripplehorn (Criminal MindsBasic Instinct), and Jai Courtney (Suicide SquadJack Reacher).

The Terminal List was released to massive blowback from critics, who called the series “unhinged right-wing revenge fantasy” and “a wet dream for militia-minded anti-establishment kooks,” which resulted in a certified rotten score of 39% on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans rallied behind the series, however, and racked up 1.4 billion minutes in the second week of streaming, bringing it second to only Stranger Things and a Rotten Tomatoes score of 95%. With that kind of reception from the fans, Amazon would be hardpressed not to greenlight more seasons, but as of yet, there has been no word on an official go-ahead for the series.

Pratt responded to the news that The Terminal List was number two in streaming with a post on his social media involving Dr. Evil from Mike Myer’s Austin Powers and a twist on his iconic line, boasting about the streaming minutes. He is no stranger to controversy, specifically political and social controversy, and a successful launch of one of his properties in the face of that controversy gives him reason to celebrate. There are five more novels in the Jack Carr series of novels, so fans may have a lot more of Jack Reese to look forward to.
