Update: This Giant Freakin Robot exclusive was confirmed, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller does appear to recruit Black Adam.

The upcoming Black Adam film is one of the most anticipated ever for the DC Universe, which makes its inevitable post-credits scene that much more exciting. According to our trusted and proven sources, the Black Adam post-credits scene will see indeed him encountering Superman for the first time, as has long been rumored/enthusiastically promoted by Dwayne Johnson. It seems that the Black Adam post-credits scene will see the mystically powered antihero resting in his throne room, only to be confronted by Amanda Waller (Viola Davis, reprising her role); after Black Adam declines to join her team, Superman appears as an implicit threat to back her up.

This Black Adam post-credits scene would confirm a number of rumors up till now, particularly that the DC Universe is setting up a confrontation between Dwayne Johnson’s character and whichever version of Superman will be around. It does raise a number of other questions, however; in particular, we do not yet know whether Amanda Waller is trying to get Black Adam to join some version of the Suicide Squad in the post-credits, or if she is developing some other, even more powerful team. Given that the Suicide Squad (or Task Force X) generally seems to be “recruited” from the ranks of imprisoned supervillains, it might hint that Waller is building another, even more secret team.

Another question raised by the Black Adam post-credits scene is exactly what pressure Amanda Waller is exerting to get Superman to act as her backup against the Kahndaqian metahuman. It is not like Amanda Waller, who is generally portrayed as a highly amoral, pragmatic mastermind just barely on the side of good, is very often allied with Superman, who is pretty much the exemplar of all that is good and just in the DC Universe. It is likely that the Black Adam post-credits scene will not give us too much information on the context of their partnership, but that is actually what a tease is for.

The Black Adam post-credits scene will include an exchange between the Man in Black stating that “There’s no one on this planet that can stop me” and Superman countering by saying “Good thing I’m not from this planet.” That seems atypically cocky of Superman and his Midwestern sense of good manners, which also raises another question: which version of Superman will be seen here? The question of whether Henry Cavill will be returning to portray the Kryptonian superhero has very much been up in the air recently, so potentially the Black Adam post-credits could clear that up.

At the very least, this Black Adam post-credits scene will raise the stakes for the Dwayne Johnson vs. Superman battle that the Fast and Furious star seems to have been gunning for. We have also previously reported that Warner Bros. Discovery is looking to install Dwayne Johnson as the new center of the DC Universe (which we have some misgivings about), so this may be the first step towards that handover. On the other hand, we might just get one heck of super-fight, which also sounds great.
