Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears are currently the subjects of a lawsuit that has some pretty disturbing allegations associated with it. According to The Daily Beast, the two comics are facing a lawsuit from a sister and brother pair who are alleging that the former two recruited children to perform sexually explicit acts on camera. The lawsuit has been filed under the name Jane Doe and the brother in the lawsuit is unnamed though in reporting is being labeled as John Doe. According to the allegations, the lawsuit refers to two incidents that happened when Jane was 14 and John was seven.

According to the lawsuit and the reporting, Tiffany Haddish was a friend of Jane and John Doe’s mother, an unnamed comic who had gotten to know Haddish on that circuit. Apparently, Haddish was close with the family through the years of the children growing up. But the lawsuit alleges that when Jane and John were children, they were approached by Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears to perform in a couple of different videos that implied sexual overtones, both of which made the children uncomfortable.

The first video was allegedly meant to mimic a sexually explicit situation involving the eating of a sandwich. According to Jane Done, Tiffany Haddish approached the then-14-year-old and showed her a video of two adults eating a Subway sandwich end-to-end and making sexual noises during the shoot. Haddish and Spears then asked Jane and John Doe to mimic what they had seen on screen. Jane says this request made her deeply uncomfortable though she did try to carry it out per the instructions. She said she felt that the skit had not been performed the way Spears and Haddish had intended though she claims she was paid for the time there.

The second alleged incident happened a year later when Tiffany Haddish approached the family again and this time requested that John Doe take part in a video she was shooting that she claimed was a sizzle reel for Nickelodeon. Apparently, the video was instead meant for the website Funny or Die and was titled “Through a Pedophile’s Eyes.” The lawsuit claims that this shoot took place in Aries Spears’ home and filmed a scene that involved the seven-year-old in his underwear. The Daily Beast reported they had viewed the video which included John Doe posing in his underwear with a number of disturbing scenes having to do with the sexualization of a child.  It was submitted to Funny or Die but the site said it was rejected. Following the shoot, Jane Doe alleges that John came downstairs deeply upset about what had happened.

Both Jane and John Doe have alleged trauma from these incidents including both saying they are fearful of being recorded by others because of what happened allegedly with Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears. Jane Doe is now the guardian for John Doe who is still a minor. The lawsuit was filed by her on both of their behalf.

According to People, representatives for Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears have responded to the lawsuit by saying it is “bogus” and that the mother of the children have been making claims for years. Time will tell how this all plays out.
