English actor Florence Pugh has been on a wild ride for the past few years. With a starring role in the hilariously great Fighting with My Family, she achieved international fame with the well-received horror flick Midsommar. Pugh rode the wave of acclaim right onto director Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of Little Women, which saw the actor in a brand-new light. Her entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Yelena Belova in Black Widow and later in the Disney+ series Hawkeye gave the actor the chance to become a household name. Now, it appears Florence Pugh’s new film with Harry Styles is making the performer a bit hesitant to discuss behind-the-scenes matters, as well as what audiences will see in the movie from the already released trailer.

According to a report by MovieWeb, Florence Pugh is choosing not to discuss a specific sex scene in the upcoming drama Don’t Worry Darling involving her onscreen partner, Harry Styles. The actor has expressed her frustration with how the movie’s trailer depicts the noted sex scene and the conversation that has since ensued because the scene is featured in the movie’s promotion. Pugh feels that the sequence is only one part of the film, which is directed by Olivia Wilde, and that the entire movie should be taken seriously. It apparently upsets Pugh to continue talking about the sex scene in question rather than the film in its entirety.

Don’t Worry Darling stars Florence Pugh and Harry Styles as a 1950s married couple that faces uncertainty when the work of Styles’ character Jack becomes more mysterious as the days go on. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Florence Pugh further reveals how she feels about the discussion surrounding her sex scene with the artist and pop culture icon Harry Styles. She notes, “When it’s reduced to your sex scenes, or to watch the most famous man in the world go down on someone, it’s not why we do it. It’s not why I’m in this industry.” Pugh apparently prefers to shed light on the themes the movie projects instead of talking about a single scene, mainly because the film has been hyped up as a starring vehicle for Pugh and the “As It Was” singer.

Unfortunately for Florence Pugh, the ongoing discussion surrounding Don’t Worry Darling seems to further focus on the real-life relationship between Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles, as well as Styles’ future as a serious actor. In addition to Styles’ sex scene as a topic of conversation, his subsequent romance with Wilde has been circling around the rumor mill for quite some time since production wrapped on the film. Also, his lead performance in the upcoming My Policeman has brought light to an apparent nude scene in that movie, according to E! Online. With both projects releasing this year, it seems that Styles and his acting endeavors will continue to be referred to during awards season. Don’t Worry Darling will first premiere at the Venice Film Festival next month and open in theaters on September 23rd. My Policeman is scheduled to be shown at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival also in September, with a limited release to the general public starting October 21st.
