Salma Hayek is one of our greatest actors, with acclaimed performances in 2003’s biopic Frida and this year’s House of Gucci. She rose from the ranks of telenovelas to become one of the most recognizable, popular, and beautiful celebrities in the world, and thankfully, social media has allowed us to follow her more closely than ever. Salma Hayek is known for her swimsuit shots and glamorous locales, and this latest post is no exception. Check out this picture from Salma Hayek:

Wow. In this picture, Salma Hayek is leaning against a railing in a beautiful tropical paradise. She is wearing a black bikini, which peeks out from under a black and white striped coverup. The Frida actor has the tiniest smirk on her face; she is also wearing large black sunglasses and a large black hat. It is hard to fault Salma Hayek for seeming pleased at herself and her surroundings, as it probably is pretty awesome to be one of the world’s most beautiful people in one of the world’s most beautiful places. At least she is kind enough to help everyone else out by letting us know about it.

Salma Hayek first broke out in Hollywood in Robert Rodriguez’s film Desperado. The influential 1995 neo-Western was a quasi-sequel/remake to the director’s own low-budget film El Mariachi, and had Salma Hayek star alongside Antonio Banderas. The two have since gone on to star in six movies together, mostly in movies by Robert Rodriguez and iconoclastic Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar. Salma Hayek would go on to appear in a wide variety of films in the following years, including a romantic comedy with Matthew Perry, the Club 54 drama movies 54, and as a muse turned stripper in Kevin Smith’s supernatural religious comedy Dogma. In the late 1990s, she also formed her own production company, which has gone on to produce a number of acclaimed films including El Coronel No Tiene Quien Le Escriba

To date, Salma Hayek has received the most praise for portraying Mexican artist Frida Kahlo in the biopic film Frida. The film co-starred Alfred Molina as Kahlo’s husband, the muralist Diego Rivera, and won two Academy Awards. While Salma Hayek was nominated for an Academy Award herself for the role, she ultimately lost to Nicole Kidman, who was herself portraying real-life historical artist Virginia Woolf in The Hours

Since then, Salma Hayek has appeared in a dizzying array of projects. She appeared in a recurring comedic role in the NBC sitcom 30 Rock. She co-starred in the action-comedy TheHitman’s Bodyguard (and its sequel) along with Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson. She starred in the acclaimed Beatriz at Dinner alongside an ensemble cast with John Lithgow and Chloe Sevigny. In short, Salma Hayek can do just about anything from drama to action to comedy and all the way back around again. And, as this particular picture indicates, she still remains fantastic-looking in a bikini as she does so.
