According to a report by Variety, Elisabeth Moss has agreed to star in a new limited series created by Peaky Blinders writer Steven Knight. The series will be available for streaming on Hulu and is titled The Veil, which will be a thriller. Knight created the internationally renowned series Peaky Binders, starring Cillian Murphy, that concluded its sixth and final season earlier this year. Knight was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for his work on the 2002 thriller Dirty Pretty Things, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor and Audrey Tautou. He went on to write the screenplay for the David Cronenberg-directed Eastern Promises before moving into the director’s chair on projects like Locke and Serenity. He is also known to television viewers as one of the original creators of the British version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
Elisabeth Moss has been working for decades in a career that established the actor as a leading figure on television. Gaining attention from audiences as the daughter of President Jed Bartlet on The West Wing, Moss moved into the cable network space by starring as Peggy Olson in the 1960s-era period drama Mad Men. The role started as a prominent supporting part before Moss made it more of a leading role by the series finale. After Mad Men concluded in 2015, Moss moved on to the dystopian epic The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu, playing June “Offred” Osborne. The role has been a significant success for the performer, as she has now earned multiple Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards in her career. According to Vulture, Moss is viewed as the “Queen of Peak TV,” as she has made her mark in a storied television career. She has also made space for a horror film career, costarring in thrillers like The Invisible Man and Jordan Peele’s Us.
