Actor Amber Heard may be one of the most famous women in America right now, but sadly for her, it’s not because of the varied acting career she once established for herself. Beginning with appearances in music videos and minor roles on television series like Jack & Bobby and The O.C., Heard made a name for herself by starring in the supernatural thriller Drive Angry alongside Nicholas Cage. However, her supporting role in The Rum Diary with Johnny Depp would seal the deal for the next decade of her personal and professional life. Now, it seems that Heard is making some money of her own after her high-profile legal cases against her ex-husband.

According to a report by TMZ, Amber Heard has sold her home in the desert area of Yucca Valley, California, with a sold amount of just over $1 million. Heard purchased the house in 2019 for $570,000 under an anonymous trust. Until now, it had only been rumored to belong to Heard. The new buyer of the property acknowledged recently that he never conversed with Heard directly about purchasing the home but that he had been working with her representatives to close the deal. Since the actor turned the house around in three years, she appears to be walking away with close to a $500,000 profit from the sale. Unfortunately for her, she may not legally be allowed to hold onto that profit for the long term.

Amber Heard selling her home comes on the heels of a televised legal drama that has been her life for the past few years. Heard married actor Johnny Depp in 2015 after dating for several years following their working relationship on the set of The Rum Diary. The couple had a tumultuous relationship that finally ended in divorce in 2017. Since then, Depp and Heard have been embroiled in several lawsuits relating to their marriage, including the most recent trial that saw a judgment against Heard to the tune of $8.3 million that she must pay Depp, according to People. Heard and her legal team are attempting to appeal the decision, but no further trials have been scheduled so far.

Since the trial that saw Amber Heard see her reputation take a nosedive on social media, she has had trouble in her professional capacity as an actor. After rumors that the actor had been fired from the role she originated as Mera in the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost KingdomVariety reports that she was not fired after all. Although, her role may be reduced in post-production. Filming has concluded on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the sequel to the 2018 film starring Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman, and is due to be released in theaters in March 2023. In the Fire, directed by Conor Allyn, is the only other project on the horizon thus far for Heard following her recent legal woes. While filming looks to be finished on the movie, no release date has been confirmed yet for In the Fire.
