Jack Quaid has seen his star on the rise of late thanks to Amazon’s The Boys becoming one of the more unlikely hit shows we’ve seen. Considering the raunchy nature and very anti-Marvel/ anti-DC approach of the series, it could have failed to find an audience, but that hasn’t been the case at all. And a big reason is Quaid’s turn as Hughie, the lovable moral compass for the rest of the group, and especially Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher. But he’s also become part of another franchise and had a decidedly different character turn in that one. It was something he embraced this weekend at Comic-Con when he went in full character for the proceedings.
Posting on Twitter (via Comic Book), Jack Quaid documented some of his weekend at Comic-Con when he went as Ghostface, a hat tip to his role in the last Scream movie when it turned out, well, his character didn’t have the best of intentions throughout. And because this is Comic-Con and cosplay isn’t just welcomed, it’s encouraged, it gave a guy like Jack Quaid who is becoming increasingly more recognizable a chance to move around a kibbutz without getting overrun by new fans. He posted a bunch of his interactions in the Twitter thread and there are some neat moments here for sure. Check out part of what Jack Quaid got up to at Comic-Con.
Pretty awesome stuff. Jack Quaid has a couple of encounters here that also sort of lay out the way his career has gone over the last many years. For starters, as mentioned he’s in the Ghostface costume throughout. And he also mentioned Lower Decks, the Star Trek animated series he was also there to help promote. The show has been a hit for Paramount, a hilarious take on the unsung heroes of this franchise, those that work in the bowels of the ship. And there was a cool announcement along those lines that the series will crossover with Deep Space Nine.
And Jack Quaid also has a run-in with Jacqueline Emerson who was milling about. The two had smaller parts in The Hunger Games back in 2012. Quaid played Marvel and Emerson played Foxface, two tributes who were part of the deadly action in the arena. You can see the two share a hug at Comic-Con.
Jack Quaid won’t be returning to the Scream franchise any time soon (probably ever the way it ended) but he is set to take part in one of the bigger movies Hollywood has to offer when Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer comes out next summer. The flick seemingly has the entirety of Hollywood in the cast with Cillian Murphy playing J. Robert Oppenheimer, the creator of the atom bomb. Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, and many, many others are involved. It’s not clear who Quaid is playing at this point. No matter what, the guy is seeing his star on the rise and it’s cool to see how he approached Comic-Con this year.
