Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the next big MCU film that is set to captivate audiences. With a release date of November 11th, it will not be long before we are able to see where the franchise is set to take the world of Wakanda past the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman. The rumors are that Shuri is meant to take on the role of the next Black Panther, and Killmonger will serve some sort of astral plane mentor role. However, a fan-favorite actor from the first film has confirmed they are not returning to the sequel. That is Daniel Kaluuya. The man confirmed the news while doing an interview for the new Jordan Peele thriller, Nope. You can see the announcement below:
Everyone will remember Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi, who happened to be the love of Okoye. W’Kabi gets wrapped up with creating his own army to take on Wakanda, presumably so that he may assume the throne and take on the role of Black Panther himself. W’Kabi works with Killmonger so that they may also distribute the high-tech weapons used in Wakanda to interested parties around the world. Naturally, things do not go M’Kabi’s way as T’Challa beats Killmonger and reassumes the throne. It was going to be exciting to see what would become of Daniel Kaluuya, but he has announced that scheduling conflicts with starring in Nope got in the way of him reprising his role in the Marvel sequel.
It makes sense that Daniel Kaluuya would forego working on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, in favor of the new Jordan Peele thriller. He was the star of Get Out, which led to the film netting an Academy Award. Black Panther was also nominated for some Academy Awards, but Kaluuya is not the main figure in the movie. He was certainly a pivotal character in the original film, but he shared the screen with plenty of other actors in a huge ensemble cast that worked well with one another. He is meant to be the star of Nope, so it makes sense that he stepped away from reappearing in the MCU.
As previously mentioned, there are rumors that have been given about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but nothing substantial just yet. Shuri is meant to take on the role of Black Panther, and the film is said to honor Chadwick Boseman in a special way. For the actor and the character within the film. Apart from that, there is little known about the plot so far. We are likely to see a trailer explaining a bit more in the coming months.
For now, fans can see Daniel Kaluuya appear in Nope, which is slated for July 22, 2022, release date. We only must wait a week more until the next Jordan Peele-led horror thriller is released. Sadly, he is not going to be appearing in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but maybe the script will make mention of his character. We are more than excited to see both films.
