Vincent D’Onofrio Returning As Kingpin In Controversial Storyline?
The MCU is always chock full of rumors, and one such rumor is that we have not seen the last of Vincent D'Onofrio, with one suggesting he will reappear in the Echo series.

The Marvel rumor mill is ever spinning and the Echo Disney+ show is often at the forefront of those rumors. We all know that Alaqua Cox’s character will be getting her own six-episode spin-off after appearing in Hawkeye as one of the primary antagonists. What’s less clear is who will be making appearances throughout the six-episode run. Previous rumors suggest that Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox will definitely be reprising their roles as Kingpin and Daredevil, respectively. Now, the Weekly Planet has put more rumors out on the web that would support these theories.
According to their ‘Hot Scoop or a Shot of Poop’ segment, the Echo show will see Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin running for mayor of New York City. Kingpin’s fate was left a little up in the air at the end of Hawkeye. Echo seemingly shot her uncle in the head point-blank. Of course, the camera panned up before the shot was fired and we all know that if you don’t see the body, there’s a good chance the character isn’t as dead as you might think. The rumor seems to support this, as Kingpin will supposedly be sporting an eyepatch in the series. This means that Echo went through with shooting him, but the blow wasn’t fatal.
Since Echo is intrinsically connected to Kingpin, an appearance from Vincent D’Onofrio never seemed outside of the realm of possibility. What’s also interesting is that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil will supposedly be showing up in three episodes of the Echo series. Daredevil has plenty of experience going up against Kingpin, so this makes sense. Charlie Cox was reintroduced to the MCU proper when he cameoed as Peter Parker’s lawyer in Spider-Man: No Way Home. This appearance broke the uncertainty that the Marvel Netflix characters would ever appear in the new MCU continuity. The appearance of Kingpin in Hawkeye helped solidify Marvel’s plans to bring the Netflix characters back into the fold. To add to this, the rumor says that Daredevil will be looking for Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones in the series, adding yet another fan-favorite Marvel Netflix character to the MCU.
Echo seems like it will be juggling a lot of characters in the short schedule of episodes, but fans will no doubt be glad to see Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox facing off again. We might even get to see Charlie Cox sporting a new Daredevil suit. The rumor states that he’ll be donning a black and red suit, as opposed to his primarily red suit we’ve seen in the Netflix show. Some other rumors have mentioned a yellow suit, so maybe we’ll be getting multiple iterations of the horned outfit. Presumably, Disney will try to keep the plot and the surprise characters under wraps until at least a trailer for Echo is released. We do have a little while to wait before we’ll be able to find out more since Echo isn’t expected until 2023. However, we’ll make sure to keep you updated with the latest rumors, so make sure to stay tuned.
