How Tall Is Timothée Chalamet? What is His Age And Ethnicity?
Timothée Chalamet is 5'10" tall. He doesn’t look his age but he was born in December of 1995 in New York. His parents, however, aren’t American.
TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET WAS BORN DECEMBER 27, 1995
While it seems like Timothée Chalamet has been on the Hollywood scene for quite osme time, it’s worth noting that he is still trending on the younger side. Born in the mid-90s, his star has taken off in recent years.
“I’m figuring it out,” Chalamet says to Time of this fame. “On my worst days, I feel a tension in figuring it out. But on my best days, I feel like I’m growing right on time.”
Again, he isn’t talking about physical height here, but instead the height his career could reach. Timothée Chalamet has more heights to climb in his career.
TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET’S HEIGHT IS 5’10” Tall
Timothée Chalamet’s keen eye for projects led him to an Oscar nomination. The lean and lanky star, his height measures in at 5 foot 10 inches (5’10”) though his build makes him look much taller.
It’s served him well on the big screen especially, offering commanding performances in nearly everything he’s been cast in so far. While he might see slight of build, leading you to think he’d come in on the smaller side, far from it. In this way, Timothée Chalamet’s height has helped him even from a young age.
Things opened eyes even more with his role in Luca Guadagnino’s Call Me by Your Name. In it, he played Elio Perlman, a young man living in Italy who falls madly in love with Armie Hammer’s Oliver.
Critics raved over Timothée Chalamet’s performance, even though he starred opposite one of the more controversial actors of our time. Unfortunately, Chalamet didn’t take home the Oscar for his performance, but it did solidify his standing as a well-respected rising star.
From Call Me by Your Name, he then moved to Hot Summer Nights and then another highly touted film, Greta Gerwig’s directorial debut, Lady Bird. He made another splash as a methamphetamine-addicted teenager opposite Steve Carell in Beautiful Boy. Timothée Chalamet survived one more controversy (though it didn’t involve him) when he was in Woody Allen’s romantic comedy, A Rainy Day in New York.
YOUNG TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET WAS BORN IN NEW YORK
Although his name may throw you off a bit, Timothée Chalamet was born in New York City and raised in midtown Manhattan. As far as Timothée Chalamet’s ethnicity is concerned, his mom is half Russian Jewish, half Austrian Jewish, was a Broadway dancer, and is currently a real estate broker. His father is all French and is an editor for the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund.
Timothée Chalamet showed his talents at a very young age. His summers were spent in the small French village of Le Chambon-sur-Lignon. He learned to speak French for that reason and because of his traveling back and forth to France, he holds a dual United States and French citizenship.
A JOKER OF AN INSPIRATION
When Timothée Chalamet was 12 years of age, his life changed. And we aren’t just talking about Timothée Chalamet’s height here, though he was growing. As he says, he was at one of his sister Pauline’s ballet performances.
After the performance, he somehow got his mother and grandmother to go see The Dark Knight, the Christopher Nolan Batman movie that starred Christian Bale. He was excited to see the movie and knew he was going to love it, but what he didn’t know was that it was going to take him in a new direction.
“We went to AMC Empire 25 in Times Square for a 7:30 screening,” he said via IndieWire. “I left that theatre a changed man, and I’m serious about that. Heath Ledger’s performance [as the Joker] in that film was visceral and viral to me, and I now had the acting bug. I didn’t know that around that time, Ledger was accepting the award for Best Actor at the New York Film Critics Circle for Brokeback Mountain.”
Truly inspired, Timothée Chalamet didn’t let age stop him and grabbed his first role on the TV series Law & Order. He then appeared in the TV movie Loving Leah and from there to the TV series Royal Pains. Timothée Chalamet, age 16, made his feature film debut in Men, Women, & Children, a Jason Reitman film.
Timothée Chalamet reached new heights later that year when he nailed the role of Matthew McConaughey’s son in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. While he was excited to work for the man who created The Dark Knight, the finished product was not exactly what he expected.
“I remember seeing it and weeping,” he recalls, “60% because I was so moved by it, and 40% because I’d thought I was in the movie so much more than I am.” He didn’t let that stop him. Timothée Chalamet understood what height he wanted his career to take him, even at that young age.
So, instead of jumping into jobs that may curtail his growth, such as a long TV contract, he bided his time, choosing only the roles that would see him grow. “Not that those opportunities were coming at me plenty,” he claims, “because they weren’t. But I had a marathon mentality, which is hard when everything is instant gratification.”
HE CAN DO MORE THAN JUST ACT
Timothée Chalamet’s talents are more than just acting. At the young age of 22, he amazed all when he got to the set of Call Me by Your Name.
Since the film was set in 1980s Italy, Chalamet learned to speak Italian for his role. Impressive as that was, he blew everyone away when he sat down at the piano and began to play. This is because, before the movie, he did not know how to play the piano.
He learned to play for the film. Still not impressed? Maybe when you see him pick up the guitar and play that instrument will do it then because he also learned to play the guitar for the movie.
TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET’S HEIGHT OF FASHION
For a man whose age is not even 30, Mr. Chalamet has an amazing eye for fashion. He knows what to wrap around his 5’10” height and does so without apology. Just take a look at his 2022 Oscar outfit and you’ll understand.
While most Hollywood elites arrived in their formal wear, Timothée Chalamet instead arrived looking quite dapper in a sequined Louis Vuitton suit sans shirt. Yes, under his jacket, he wore nothing.
It is just one of the many fashion statements he’s made over his career and one that had GQ naming him the best-dressed man in the world.
BEST ADVICE GIVEN
Excess in Hollywood has always been its downfall. Many movie stars have fallen prey to “excess” with a list of casualties miles long. Timothée Chalamet, as he rises to the height of his career, has every intention of avoiding said excess. While the thought may have been first and foremost in his mind early in his career, he did say he was given some sage advice by an unnamed “hero.”
“One of my heroes—I can’t say who or he’d kick my ass—he put his arm around me the first night we met and gave me some advice,” he tells Time. “No hard drugs,” Timothée Chalamet says, “and no superhero movies.”
He has stayed completely away from the former and as for the latter, the closest he’s come to playing a superhero would be his portrayal of Paul Atreides in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune. Plus there is Wonka which saw him taking over the younger version of the iconic character.
Timothée Chalamet has made himself into a fine actor, with more heights to reach. His future looks bright and as long as he avoids the perils of a superhero movie, up is the only direction we can see him flying.
While we are fully confident of his growth, one thing we do know for sure is that Timothée Chalamet will be well-dressed.
