The Mandalorian is arguably one of the most popular Star Wars entries that have ever been created. Especially considering we finally got to see Temuera Morrison reprise his role from the prequel trilogy. He portrayed Jango Fett, which was the “father” of the clone army. His DNA was used to create a line of super-soldiers, so naturally, Boba Fett looked exactly like him too. When Morrison popped up in The Mandalorian, fans went wild, especially given the argument that Boba Fett never died in the Sarlacc pit. However, when he was given his own show, it wasn’t met with the same enthusiasm. Now, Morrison has claimed that given the choice, he would certainly change elements in The Book of Boba Fett.

Temuera Morrison was asked about how he felt about the series overall. According to the actor, “Feeling the love from all the fans, feeling that we’ve done something good and the reaction I’ve been getting from the fans is overwhelming. [I’m] very proud, and just grateful for the wonderful opportunity to play Boba Fett in The Book of Boba Fett, to work with Ming-Na.” He also added, “Now that I’m looking back at it, I don’t know, it’s just one of those things. Things are great when you look back, but there are some things I may have done a little bit different.” The work of an artist is never completely done, so it’s natural to feel some sort of regret on things you might have done “better” or “differently.”

One of the biggest issues that fans had with The Book of Boba Fett is that the series seemed to veer off course and become about Djin and Grogu. That is not a bad thing, as the characters are certainly interconnected. However, Boba Fett took a backseat in his own show, and that is nothing something you want from someone who is meant to be the lead of their own series. Despite that glaring issue, Boba Fett and Fennec Shand are two of those most popular characters right now. They could arguably and should pop up in The Mandalorian Season 3.

Another big issue is that Boba Fett always had a mysterious nature. That was something that Temuera Morrison always appreciated about the character. He spoke very few lines, but he didn’t need to speak much at all. Everyone knew him as one of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy, despite him not speaking but three lines in the original trilogy. Morrison wanted to replicate that same mystery in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Given the choice, he would have likely allowed someone else to take most of the speaking lines, and let Fett speak when it was necessary. That would have kept the character much more grounded, in a sense.

Despite wanting to change things about The Book of Boba Fett, the series was still a huge change to finally see the backstory of one of the most captivating characters in the Star Wars mythos. Morrison might be a bit regretful, but he has felt the love from fans around the world. And we aren’t the only ones who want to see the man return in some form for either another run in the second season of his own show or appearing in The Mandalorian Season 3. I mean, he could appear in any show, and it would be amazing. Maybe we see him at some point as a younger man in Obi-Wan. We want more Boba Fett is what we are saying.
