Stranger Things Season 4 has officially dropped on Netflix, and it sits in the #1 spot on the streaming platform. Tons of people have been flocking to watch the newest season and as a result, a song from the 1980s has launched to the top of iTunes and streaming charts. That song is “Running Up That Hill (Go With God)” by Kate Bush. Although the film had been a hit in the 1980s, it never reached #1 status. That is no longer the case. The song catapulted into the #1 spot on iTunes and remains in the “top 200” section of Spotify. The song currently has over 103 million streams. The Stranger Things soundtrack is also in the top 10 of the top iTunes.
The Kate Bush song took 37 years to finally reach the top, but now she can revel in that fact. The song was featured in the first episode of Stranger Things Season 4. Max (Sadie Sink) is walking through the halls of the school with the song blaring in her headphones. The song also pops up later in the season as Max is trying to deal with the heartbreak of losing her brother. For those who don’t remember, Max’s older brother Billy Hargrove had been possessed by the monster in season three. He sacrifices himself to save Max and the rest of the group. It was truly an honorable moment that helped to rebound Billy from his previous behavior.

The consensus for the show has not dropped compared to the third season. Everyone still loves the kids from Dawkins, and their attempts to drive back the force of the upside-down. This fourth season has been split into two parts. The first seven episodes are available on Netflix right now, and eight and nine will debut on July 1st. The rest of the soundtrack for the show contains songs from Talking Heads, KISS, and the Beach Boys. Those artists are plenty big on their own, but their popularity might also be seeing a rise due to the show viewed so much right now. Also, who doesnt like some good 1980s ballads? Weird Al was also mentioned in the show, though his songs did not make the soundtrack.
