The gang is finally back and oh boy are they ready for action! In a teaser that combines reality with the Upside Down, along with the most intense game of Dungeons and Dragons that we’ve ever seen, Netflix has released the final Stranger Things season 4trailer. Gearing up for its premiere this Friday (sound the alarms), the last peek of Stranger Things season 4 gives us a taste of the battle to come and all the ‘80s glory set to join it. With a fight on the horizon that could end the world as we know it, the series promises to bring back all our favorite characters and then some.

It’s been six months since the heroic Battle of Starcourt and Hawkins is still reeling from its effects. Stranger Things season 4 will not only deal with the strangeness going on surrounding the bizarre entities that want to destroy the sleepy town of Hawkins, but will also tackle the uncomfortable and terrifying strangeness of high school. The gang has been separated as they take on their teenage years just in time for a new supernatural force to rise and threaten their lives once again. If they’re able to stop it, they could end the rein of terror all together, and if they aren’t, their town and lives could be destroyed once and for all.

Last season, we saw both young and middle age love blossom and come apart at the seams. New characters were introduced and the gang began to shift from childhood to teenagedom with lots of rifts along the way. Meanwhile, American democracy was at risk by an ever growing threat from Russia. As the Russians attempted to open up the portal between realities, our hero group of teens used their combination of wit, skill, muscle, and of course, Eleven’s superhuman capabilities, to put an end to their deadly experiments. With twists and turns coming out of the final episodes, we’re going to leave the Season 3 synopsis there in case you need to catch up on it before you tune into Stranger Things Season 4. No spoilers here!

Bringing all the familiar faces back for another round of butt kicking between dimensions, Stranger Things Season 4 will once again feature a talented cast including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Cara Buono, and Matthew Modine. Although it first aired back in 2016, the series has only produced four seasons, but the newest one promises to be a doozy. Broken up into two releases with nine episodes total, the first seven episodes will become available on May 27 with the other two dropping on July 1.

Boasting this season as the biggest one yet, Stranger Things Season 4’s runtime is set to be over five hours longer than the first three. In fact, series creators, Matt and Ross Duffer have revealed that both episodes seven and nine will be feature-length, meaning you’ll need to pop some popcorn and get comfy for those two. With the final trailer premiering today, we’re ready to dive into the Upside Down and take on all the monsters that come with it beginning this Friday. You can see the trailer above.
