Everyone has a favorite movie that they can watch over and over again, with some comic book fans mixing things up with the Marvel Movie Order. But one person has taken it to the next level. Ramiro Alanis has seen Spider-Man: No Way Home 292 times! He now holds the Guinness World Record for most cinema productions attended of the same film. The die-hard superhero fan raked up his views between December 6, 2021, and 15 March 15, 2022. That means he spent 720 hours (or 30 days) watching the web-slinger break the multiverse.

According to Guinness, this isn’t the Florida resident’s first rodeo with the world record. He set the same category’s record in 2019 after watching Avengers: Endgame 191 times. Sadly, another movie fan named Arnaud Klein bested him last year after watching Kaamelott: First Installment 204 times in theaters. But Alanis decided to reclaim the title in honor of his grandmother who died before he made Marvel-fan history in 2019.

“She was my number one supporter and I want to remain the record holder,” he told Guinness World Records. So, with the help of Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, Alanis decided to surpass Klein by seeing the movie as many times as possible. The logic behind this decision was to make the record harder for any other movie fan to break. He spent $3,400 on tickets to achieve the win.

However, reclaiming the top stop wasn’t easy. There are some very specific rules which have to be followed for each viewing to count. Filled with all the determination of a Marvel character, Alanis bought tickets to back-to-back screenings, The Wrap reports. He also couldn’t do anything else while watching the popular blockbuster. This meant Alanis couldn’t look at his phone, take a snack break, or even go to the bathroom until the credits were over. This is something the Marvel die-hard learned the hard way the first time he achieved the record. In 2019, 11 of his Avengers: Endgame viewings were disqualified because he left the movie to use the restroom. Additionally, he had to get written statements from theater staff and save his ticket stubs, People reports.

After seeing the movie 292 times, Alanis says he can pretty much recite the dialogue along with the movie. And this is something he actually did out loud during the final screening in an empty theater, three months after the Marvel movie was released. His viewings certainly helped Spidey earn over $1.89 billion, making it the highest-grossing movie of 2021 and the sixth-highest of all time.

The massive success of Spider-Man: No Way Home is partly due to the return of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, who suited up as the superhero from their respective universes. When asked about his favorite, Ramiro told Guinness he loves all three Spider-Man actors. But if he had to pick a favorite it would be Andrew Garfield because of his redemption arc – despite having met Tom Holland. With a new batch of Marvel movies set to drop soon, it will be interesting to see if Alanis can hang on to his title.
