Fortnite has long been involved in crossovers with big-name characters that have spanned many mediums. Marvel heroes have long been involved in becoming skins for players to use when playing the big battle royale. Now Fortnite has announced that Ezio from Assassin’s Creed is going to be part of the next crossover event. That, and Eivor from the massively popular Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will also be joining. Both skins will feature the characters from their respective times under the Assassin’s Creed banner. You can see the announcement below:
While Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla saw the players being able to choose between a female and male version of Eivor, it seems that Fortnite has opted to go with the female version for the crossover event. The female Eivor will feature the dual-wielded axes in place of the pickaxe that allows players to destroy the environment and build. Eivor will also be given a few different outfits with one being a cloaked version. The Raven clan shield and pickaxe will be part of the skin, and a Viking War Cry emote. The same will be the case for Ezio in terms of weaponry, as his hidden blades will also function in the same way to destroy environments and farming. Unfortunately using the hidden blades will only be destroying purposes and not function in a way to allow players to assassinate one another. That would be great if that function was added though.
Both these skins will be part of the Tales from the Animus bundle. While all the items can be purchased individually, the bundle also contains more than just the two skins. The Wolf-Kissed Longboat glider, Wolf-Kissed spray, Eivor’s Fury loading screen, Raven Clan emoticon, and Tales from the Animus banner will also be a part of the pack for this new crossover event. While rival gaming companies would not usually allow their characters to be used in such a way, Fortnite players often dump plenty of money into purchasing some of the higher-end skins. Especially if those skins are well-liked figures like Carnage, Spider-Man, and now Ezio and Eivor. Ubisoft owns the rights for those characters but now Epic Games will be allowed to showcase the skins on Fornite. Epic Games has been instrumental in raising funds for Ukraine, and that could be why other gaming companies have signed on to lend their characters to the cause. So far, Epic has raised over $144 million dollars in relief donations for Ukraine. Ubisoft could be wanting to get in on the help as they lend characters from Assassin’s Creed, which is one of their most popular franchises.
The new Assassin’s Creed crossover skins will be available starting tomorrow, April 7th, at 8 PM EST. Players will be able to purchase the bundle from their respective console stores or within the Fortnite game itself after purchasing the necessary V-Bucks it will take. Fortnite has certainly found a way to excite gamers by being able to portray some of the biggest and most popular characters from a ton of different genres. This new Assassin’s Creed bundle is sure to be just as popular as the rest have been.
