Ever since she won a Screen Actors Guild Award for portraying Mad Men’s Trudy Campbell, Alison Brie has become one of Hollywood’s brightest stars. After a successful six-season run as Annie Edison in the popular comedy series Community, she has maintained a steady stream of work in various movies and series. But the actress still makes time for entertaining her fans on social media. In a recent post, the 39-year-old showed off her outfit before appearing on the Today Show.
Posing in her hotel room, Alison Brie looked stunning shimmery pink ensemble. The Rental star paired the fitted blazer and mini skirt with black stockings and platform high heels. She kept her makeup simple, with her carefully tousled dark brown hair loosely flowing over her shoulders. In the caption accompanying the images she wrote, “Back at it! Following her mini photoshoot, Alison Brie was all smiles on the Today Show, as she talked about her upcoming Apple TV+ show Roar. Based on Cecelia Ahern’s 2018 short story collection of the same name, the anthology series hails from GLOW creators Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch. Every episode in the collection tells a story through the eyes of different women. It also explores how women navigate life with the weight of others’ expectations and perceptions on their shoulders. Roar’s eight episodes are set to air on April 15th.
The Community alum also chatted about her husband Dave Franco and how he doesn’t like to run lines with her. “We have two different schools of thought on it,” Alison Brie told viewers. “He doesn’t like to run lines, and I do.” The actress also recounted how she’s been trying to change his mind on the matter. “We’ve had a couple of times where we’re shooting movies together, that we’re acting in together, and we’re, like, about to fall asleep,” Brie said. “And I’m like, ‘Run lines with me.’” But despite her persistence, Franco still refused.
Alison Brie and Dave Franco started dating in 2012 after meeting at Mardi Gras in New Orleans the year before. After managing to keep their relationship private for the most part, the couple announced their engagement in 2015. They were married in a small ceremony two years later. Since then the couple has worked on a few films together but pride themselves on living a rather low-key life away from the cameras.
Meanwhile, Alison Brie has several other projects in the works besides Roar. According to the Daily Mail, she is currently filming Freelance. The story follows a retired special-forces operator who finds herself protecting a journalist who is tasked with interviewing a dictator. The cast also includes Alice Eve (of Star Trek Into Darkness fame) and Peacemaker star John Cena.
The GLOW star is also working on Somebody I Used to Know with her husband. The romantic comedy is directed by Dave Franco from directing from a screenplay he wrote with his wife. With Amazon Studios set to distribute, the film also features Jay Ellis and Kiersey Clemons. Principal photography began in and around Portland, Oregon in September 2021. There is no release date set at this time.
