Princess Diana Will Now Be The Subject Of A Conspiracy Theory Series
The death of Princess Diana will now be turned into a mini-series exploring some of the conspiracy theories around the tragic event

The death of Princess Diana of Wales on August 31, 1997, remains one of the most shocking tragedies in the history of the world. Considering her fame, royal family status, nature of her passing, and many more factors, the car crash that took her life along with two other passengers has remained a subject of much public intrigue over the last couple of decades. And now a new show will highlight some of the questions around the events as well as Princess Diana’s life leading up to the car crash that claimed her life. According to Variety, a new series Who Killed Lady Di? is in the works and it will explore these details and more.
According to the reporting, Who Killed Lady Di? will be a mini-series set in the time period following the death of Princess Diana. This will be a fictionalized account of one reporter/ blogger who is looking into what happened and trying to uncover the truth around the events. Apparently, it will set itself up to explore a number of different conspiracies and conspiracy theories that cropped up after her death. This will blend real events with fictional characters
The series will follow a French investigator who is tasked with uncovering the truth around the death of Princess Diana and she will be teamed with a British blogger who is also writing about the case. This will, in part, be based on the accounts of Martine Monteil who helped lead the original case by the French authorities. Monteil is on as a writer for the series as well. Julien Lilti is on as creator after penning the French series Hippocrate. The new mini-series is also set to highlight how exactly some of the actual conspiracies started in the wake of Princess Diana’s death and how the news at the time struggled to report the facts accurately.
Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris’s Pont de l’Alma tunnel in August of 1997. She, along with French film producer Dodi Fayed and driver Henri Paul were killed as their car sped away from paparazzi who were tracking the two looking for pictures. Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed were in a relationship at the time. In the timeline following her death, Fayed’s father, billionaire Mohamed Al-Fayed, had suggested that the death was not an accident, but rather a planned event put into action by British authorities and other royals.
Investigations never confirmed these claims and the crash was said to be because of the driver’s intoxication at the time combined with high rates of speed and the fact that Princess Diana was not wearing a seatbelt. A number of other conspiracy theories have cropped up since. It’s unclear if this new series will deal with all of them. They involve a number of possibly salacious details around the life of Princess Diana as well as the standing of the British Royal Family at the time.
It’s unclear where this Princess Diana series will eventually land. According to Variety, the mini-series is currently being shopped to different partners for distribution and financing. We are sure to get more information shortly on when and where we can see Who Killed Lady Di?.
