Lindsay Lohan Is Making A Major Career Comeback

The comeback is always greater than the setback and Lindsay Lohan is out to prove exactly that. Earlier this week it was announced that the Mean Girls actress had signed a deal with mega-streamer, Netflix, which will see her taking center stage in two of the platform’s upcoming original films. The two newest projects will mark the red head’s third and fourth venture with the streaming service following their releasing of the two season series, Sick Note, a dark comedy which Lohan starred in opposite Rupert Grint, and Falling for Christmas, which will premiere just in time for the holidays later this year.
In Falling for Christmas, Lindsay Lohan will take on the role of a recently engaged, well-to-do hotel heiress whose life gets flipped upside down following a skiing accident. Causing her extreme memory loss, the accident lands her right into the caretaking arms of a good looking lodge owner, played by Chord Overstreet. Toss in the lodge owner’s too wise-for-her-own-age daughter, and you’ve got the perfect mix for a holiday rom-com!
Nineties kids everywhere will remember Lindsay Lohan for her iconic role in the 1998 film, The Parent Trap, where she starred opposite herself as a set of twins who would stop at nothing to get their divorced parents back together. From there, it seemed as if the actress was putting out countless hits per calendar year for her early teen audience, appearing in favorites such as Life-Size, Freaky Friday and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen before leading in the 2004 comedic cult classic, Mean Girls.
Things kept cruising at an upward altitude for Lindsay Lohan who, by the mid-2000s, took on a career in music alongside her onscreen dealings. However, by the latter half of the decade, things began to take a turn. The rumor mill started to churn and the young actress soon found herself under constant scrutiny from the tabloids and public eye. Following some time in rehab, during which she lost several acting opportunities, Lohan teamed up with Oprah in 2014 to make a documentary in hopes of getting the truth about her life out there. Since then, it has been a bit patchy for the actress with a few on screen credits, including the aforementioned, Sick Note, and her stage debut in the London West End production, Speed-the-Plow.
Now, with the announcement that Lindsay Lohan has been signed on to lead in two more features, we are delighted to say the actress is definitely set to make a full blown comeback. And we aren’t the only one’s filled with excitement to learn about Lohan’s soon to be projects. Christina Rogers, Netflix’s Director of Independent Film, commented that she and the team behind the media mogul were “so happy” to be given the chance to continue working with the longtime Hollywood star, adding they were also relishing the opportunity to show off “more of her films” to viewers on a global scale. While no further details have been released as to what genres of film we can expect Lohan’s two new ventures to be, we are looking forward to hearing more updates as they roll in.
