The sudden rise and fall of entrepreneurs, or in this case as they are called, “unicorns”, lead to dishy exposés that not only the media eats up, but also Hollywood. Real-life scandalous documentaries are all the buzz lately, with networks like Hulu slated to premiere series like the one following Elizabeth Holmes, the controversial founder of Theranos. Similarly, Showtime is set to air Super Pumped, based on the real-life affairs of Uber’s founder. Apple TV is also making a stake in the real-life business scandal dramatization with their upcoming miniseries, WeCrashed. The explosive drama, starring Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto just released a new trailer ramping up for the series March 18th premiere. The new trailer looks promising with its star-studded lineup.

Following the real-life tragic story of We Work’s founders, the eight episode miniseries’ trailer showcased Acadamy Award-winners Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto showcasing their power dynamics on the small screen. The guru-turned-tech billionaire couple played by the celebs’ story depicts not only the rise and fall of their flashy business venture but also on their marriage. “Come with me and let’s build the future together” Leto as Neumann utters in the trailer as he promises to make a business out of “happiness” while redefining the common workspace of the corporate world. Nearly unrecognizable, Leto, perfectly depicting a man that looks to portray a messiah of sorts, hints at being “just crazy enough” for cult status, while his counterpart just wants to be taken seriously and not get outshined by her husband.
The WeCrashed miniseries will document the real-life scandal surrounding the business venture known as WeWorks. Focusing on the couple behind it all, Jared Leto’s Adam Neumann and Anne Hathaway’s Rebekah Neumann are at the center of the sudden rise and subsequent fall of the entrepreneurs. WeWork is an American commercial real estate company that provides flexible shared workspaces for technology startups and services for other enterprises. With the zealous faces of the Neumann’s flaunting the futuristic business model, the ideals now are referred to as being unicorns, or the next big thing. Since its founding in 2010, the company amassed thousands of followers in its cause, but the ideals proved worthless when the company ultimately plummeted millions of dollars in 2019 following its failed initial public offering of company stock. In the aftermath, Adam Neumann resigned from his position as CEO and gave up majority voting control in the company.
WeCrashed will feature Lee Eisenberg and Drew Crevello as executive producers, writers, and showrunners. The duo previously released the hit Wondery podcast WeCrashed: The Rise and Fall of WeWork documenting the real-life story. The Apple TV+ series will also star Kyle Marvin, America Ferrera, and O-T Fagbenle alongside Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway. John Requa and Glenn Ficarra will direct the eight episodic miniseries. And while it’s safe to guess exactly how the story will pan out, the official description for WeCrashed states that the series will depict the actual events surrounding the business, along with the love story at the center of it all. WeCrashed will land on Apple TV+ on March 18th.
