Lately, Star Wars fans have a lot to be excited about. Not the least of which is the new Disney+ series The Book of Boba Fett which co-stars the legendary Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand. Recently, Ming-Na Wen released a promotional video for the Disneyland attraction Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. In the video, you can see her sitting on the throne of Boba Fett, which is where he’ll be ruling the Tattoine underworld from in the new series. According to the video, lucky visitors to the park will get a chance to sit on Boba Fett’s throne as well. Check it out below:
The video also highlights some of the other main attractions of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge location in Disneyland. Ming-Na Wen introduces us to the planet Batuu, which is a port for smugglers and adventurers in the Star Wars universe. In the park, you can do things like build your own droid, ride the Millennium Falcon, drink at the cantina, and, of course, sit on Boba Fett’s throne in the Trading Post.
The Disneyland special location actually first opened in 2019 and was hugely popular. Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic eventually caused the park to shut down. Now that the virus is slightly more under control and portions of the population are vaccinated, Disneyland has reopened its doors with various pandemic-related protocols in place. This means guests can finally reimmerse themselves in the galaxy far, far away that fan-favorite characters like Darth Vader and Boba Fett call home.
Disneyland Resorts is also opening its highly immersive Star Wars hotel, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser in March of 2022. This themed resort promises a bespoke Star Wars experience where you become part of your own Star Wars story. Though it won’t be cheap by any means, this is probably your best chance to become a Jedi like Luke Skywalker, a bounty hunter like Boba Fett, or any kind of Star Wars character you want to be.
If you can’t make it out to the Disney parks or book a spot at the high-concept Star Wars resort, you can always head to Disney+ and watch your favorite Star Wars characters do what they do best. The Book of Boba Fett is now streaming, with the first episode already out. You can see Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett sitting on his throne with Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec Shand at his side. The two were first introduced (in Boba’s case, reintroduced) in Disney’s first live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian. In the show, we’ll see Boba’s rise to power in the criminal underworld, as he and Shand attempt to hold the throne that was once held by Jabba the Hutt.
If you can’t get enough Star Wars content, 2022 will also see the release of two new Disney+ series, Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’ll also get to catch new episodes of The Book of Boba Fett. Chapter 2 is set to be released on January 5, so make sure to tune in to see Ming-Na Wen and Temuera Morrison in action.
