The Turners are gearing up for a fourth season as Academy Award-nominated M. Night Shyamalan is happy to announce the renewal of Servant for a fourth season with Apple TV+. The news comes just ahead of the launch for the season three premiere on January 21, 2022. The series is planned to conclude with the fourth season, in which there will be forty episodes to enjoy.
The psychological thriller series Servant, created by Tony Basgallop, takes us through the tumultuous lives of a wealthy Philadelphia family. At the center of the story are Dorothy (Lauren Ambrose) and Sean Turner (Toby Kebbell). The couple suffers a blow to their marriage after the death of Jericho, their thirteen-week-old son (played by Mason and Julius Belford). The tragedy of losing her infant son causes Dorothy to experience a complete psychotic break. This break catapults Dorothy and Sean into transitory object therapy using a lifelike reborn doll in the place of their dead infant.
This reborn doll pulls Dorothy from the catatonic state she has been suffering from since the loss of Jericho. She comes to believe the unsettling idea that this reborn doll, which she named Jericho, is actually a living, breathing baby, her baby. And now, with her baby, Jericho, once again alive in her eyes, all will be well again. Servant delves into the darkness of losing a child, coping skills, and a mysterious force that comes along when they hire Leanne (Nell Tiger Free), a young Nanny. And along with Leanne, the new nanny, comes her secret powers and the big secret of her affiliation with the cult, Church of Lesser Saints.
With all of the gripping mystery and suspense, audiences everywhere have been treated to one hell of a thrill ride since Servant’s very first episode. M. Night Shyamalan has introduced us to a troublesome and cinematic world where we get to witness firsthand the nightmarish experiences the Turners have to endure. And with each episode, the compelling experiences only heighten in intensity and angst as we wait for what is coming next.
The show has the approval of horror author Stephen King. He said it best when he paid a compliment to the series, saying, “If there’s anything creepier or more binge-worthy than this, I don’t know what it is.” He goes on to describe Servant as “Tight focus, great acting, and atmosphere.”
