The Boys Is Getting A Spinoff Series
We are getting another The Boys spinoff with the franchise only expanding. In addition to a third season, there will also now be other stories

The world of The Boys on Amazon continues to expand with the streamer bringing on a few other projects that will only bring more into this crazy world. If there was a cast of characters that we should see even more of, this is the one. The comic book adaptation has been a complete hit for the streamer thanks to its insistence on taking the stories as far into R-rated territory as they can go. And now, according to Deadline, there is another spinoff project on the way, this one an animated limited series. The Boys: Diabolical will set itself in this world and only dive deeper into the universe.
Apparently, The Boys: Diabolical will have eight episodes in all, and each will deal with different stories about characters in the world. There are some big names attached to this spinoff. It is looking like the series will be eight different on-offs with different writers and voices taking part in episodes. Some of the folks involved include Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Awkwafina, Eliot and Ilana Glazer, and Andy Samberg.
Erik Kripke, The Boys showrunner let on that this spinoff series will also take the same no-holds-barred tone of the original when he said, “We gathered together some incredible creators and we gave them one rule…just kidding, there’s no rules. They blew the doors off it…” This could mean a lot of things, but it likely at least alludes to the idea that this animated spinoff series won’t, in any way, be suitable for kids.
It’s unclear if The Boys: Diabolical spinoff will include animated versions of the characters in the live-action series. That one, based on the comic book series of the same name Garth Ennis and Derrick Robertson, sets itself in a world in which superheroes are very real and are anything but virtuous. In The Boys, heroes are treated like celebrities and many have the same trappings and egos you’d expect, except that these folks also just happen to be the most powerful. There’s the psychotically narcissistic Homelander played Anthony Starr who heads up the Seven, Vought Industries team of “heroes”. Acting as something of a resistance force is Karl Urban as Billy Butcher and Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell. They are powerless except for their brazen devil-may-care attitudes. The show’s interplay between these two competing factions has worked perfectly.
And The Boys: Diabolical isn’t the only spin-off coming in this world. There is also going to be a new series that sets itself at a college for upcoming heroes and those with superpowers. This one is called G-Men, and hat-tip to the X-Men and will set itself in on a Vought Industries campus. If we add superpowers with hormones then this thing could be completely off the rails. That full spinoff series is in development now.
The Boys has completed two seasons on the streamer with a third on the way. In addition to the original cast, some new faces will show up for this next season. Jensen Ackles is joining as Soldier Boy who could be the worst of the bunch. Also, Laurie Holden is on as Crimson Countess. There is no word on when to expect the third season to air. Filming started all the way back in February, so there is some chance we are getting closer to seeing how the rest of the debaucherous story unfolds.
