Vin Diesel’s Plea To Dwayne Johnson For Fast & Furious Return Just Got A Response
The public feud between VIn Diesel and Dwayne Johnson is heating up again. Now, Vin Diesel finally has a response to his public plea for The Rock to return to Fast & Furious.

It has been established time and again that Dwayne Johnson is done with the original Fast & Furious storyline and won’t be making any appearances in the last two films. But recently, Vin Diesel decided to set aside their years-long feud and publicly implored Johnson to reprise his role as Luke Hobbs in Fast & Furious 10, which will have two parts. While Dwayne Johnson is yet to give an answer to Diesel’s plea, the Jungle Cruise actor’s business partner and co-producer Hiram Garcia has responded to the possibility of The Rock’s return in the final films for the franchise.
Recently, Garcia sat down for a chat with Screen Rant while promoting Red Notice. During the interview, he discussed Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, and revealed the unpredictable state of the world of The Fast saga. Nothing can be said for sure about Luke Hobb’s future in the main storyline as characters from past films, whose stories were presumably concluded, have also returned to the franchise. According to Garcia, Vin Diesel reaching out to Dwayne Johnson, who is the “biggest movie star in the world,” is not surprising. He is even sure that Vin Diesel has already sent Johnson DMs to request him to make a comeback for Fast & Furious 10.
Look, you can never predict or control what’s going to come out of that world. So I’m very used to it by now. I think we’re both very used to it. I know. I haven’t been able to really connect with DJ [Dwayne Johnson] on it because he’s been buried in promoting Red Notice. But yeah, I’m used to it. It’s what comes with that world. You get crazy curve balls thrown and you just roll with it. It’s the Fast family. Look, DJ’s the biggest movie star in the world. No one’s below trying all attempts and approaches to try and get him on board. So I appreciate it. You got to take your shot. You never know. I’m sure there’s a couple DMs that slid in there too. I’m sure he slid into the DMs as well.

In his Instagram post for Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel pled with the actor, calling The Rock his “little brother” and reminding him that Diesel’s children call him Uncle Dwayne. Without a single mention of their long-standing feud, Diesel has implored Johnson to come back and “fulfill your destiny” by coming back to play everyone’s beloved Hobbs in the finale film.
The Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson feud kicked off many years ago after the latter joined the Fast & Furious franchise as U.S. Diplomatic Security Service agent, Luke Hobbs in 2011’s Fast Five. Hobbs was initially chasing after Diesel’s Dominic Toretto and Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner but later joined their crew. While the on-screen story saw them teaming up, behind the camera, their arguments kept escalating and reached a breaking point during the making of Fate of the Furious.
Dwayne Johnson even made their feud public in a since-deleted Instagram post and aired his displeasure with how Vin Diesel conducted himself. Johnson then made the decision to branch away from the main storyline. He paired up with Jason Statham to star in the Fast & Furious blockbuster spin-off, Hobbs & Shaw in 2019. The Dwayne Johnson film ended up earning $760 million worldwide and has even led to an upcoming sequel.
Previously, Garcia had asserted in a chat with Collider that the Jungle Cruise actor will not be a part of the last two Fast & Furious films. At the time, he assured fans that even though Dwayne Johnson won’t be joining Vin Diesel and the rest of the cast in the original storyline anytime soon, Hobbs & Shaw 2 is still in the pipeline and they have some “very big ideas” for the project.
For now, given Dwayne Johnson’s hectic schedule, there is no confirmed date for when the sequel will start filming. As for his return in Fast & Furious 10, it remains to be seen whether Vin Diesel’s heartfelt post will succeed in moving the Jumanji star and convincing him to be a part of the franchise’s swan song.
