See Real NASA Astronauts In Famous Sci-Fi Movie Posters
One would imagine being an astronaut is a high-stress occupation. Despite being quite literally a dream job for many at NASA, there’s no question that every launch requires a thousand things to go right, and anything that goes wrong can mean serious trouble.
With that kind of pressure, you almost have to have a sense of humor to lighten the atmosphere now and then.
Apparently, one way the NASA folks blow off some steam is by creating silly posters for the individual missions that reference everything from Star Trek to The Matrix to Harry Potter.
The first one, of course, is a look at the NASA astronauts as Star Trek characters. This one checks all the boxes and is an obvious fit for the space crowd.
The biggest question? One has to wonder how many of those astronauts had to rent Starfleet uniforms, and how many of them already had them in the back of their closet.

All of these are pretty great. We has some simple ones like the group of NASA astronauts at the characters from the Matrix franchise. And there’s the group as part of Armageddon.
But the folks at NASA did get creative with some others. There’s Reservoir Dogs and Ocean’s Eleven, as if the astronauts were going to pull off some kind of space heist.
But how about a little Major League action with everyone storming out of the dugout? And what if NASA actually went to Hogwarts? Good news, because there’s one in the Harry Potter theme as well.
Overall, astronauts are heroes, and it’s always worth celebrating these brave men and women. As space tourism and trips to the beyond become easier and easier for the human race, maybe we’ll start to forget just how rare it was for people to launch themselves out of the atmosphere.
But there was a time when it was rare, required incredible amounts of training, and wasn’t something every Tom, Dick, or Harry could pull off.
