Tom Holland Will Team Up With This Iconic Group In New Marvel Movie
Tom Holland looks like he might be joining forces with an iconic Marvel team.

Another day, another Marvel rumor. Geekosity is reporting that Sony and Disney are talking about a Spider-Man and X-Men crossover. So, if this were to happen, then we can see Tom Holland fighting supervillains with members of the superhero team like Wolverine, Storm, and Cyclops.
There are no confirmations that Tom Holland will specifically team up with the X-Men. It would not be a huge surprise as whenever Marvel introduces the Mutants; they will interact with other characters who have been established in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The studio is all about putting characters together like Wong (Doctor Strange‘s Benedict Wong) and Abomination (The Incredible Hulk‘s Tim Roth) appearing in the upcoming Shang-Chi in the Legend of the Ten Rings or bringing Zemo (Captain America: Civil War‘s Daniel Bruhl), James Rhodes (Avengers: Endgame‘s Don Cheadle), Ayo (Black Panther‘s Florence Kasumba), and Sharon Carter (Captain America: Civil War‘s Emily VanCamp) back into the fold in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
If this were to happen, it would depend on the deal with Sony as Spider-Man is not owned by Marvel and Disney. Tom Holland is slated for the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home on December 17, and he is likely to continue his stint as the web-slinger, but it is uncertain if he will be around long enough to see who will replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and the rest of the Mutants who were established in the Fox franchise.
X-Men #35 in 1967 was the first time Spider-Man met the X-Men. Since then, he has had a long history of collaborating with those heroes. It would be fitting to see that on the big screen for Marvel’s juggernaut franchise by interacting with actors like Tom Holland.
It is uncertain how the X-Men will be introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe anyways. As Deadpool 3 might start production next year, we could see the Merc with a Mouth as the introduction. Other rumors have circulated around the Internet about how Marvel plans on going about bringing in these new kinds of heroes. Some talk has come about how Loki and WandaVision can open the door for Mutants. Playing with multiverses from the god of Mischief’s series and the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, maybe instead of mutations in the current universe, it will be brought in from an alternate timeline where these heroes live. As Spider-Man: No Way Home is supposedly dabbling with multiverses like other shows and movies in the franchise, who knows, maybe Tom Holland will be a part of bringing these missed-out characters into a new universe with a new cast.
Regardless of rumors, Marvel fans have plenty to hold them over until the X-Men finally arrive. Tom Holland has his third Spider-Man movie to top off 2021, Simu Liu (Kim’s Convenience) will introduce Shang-Chi to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in September, and the ensemble cast of Eternals will bring some game-changing characters into the franchise. On top of that, shows on DisneyPlus will start releasing as What If…? releases in a few days (August 11), while Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel will come later in the year.
